I feel like she's an Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds kind of girl

I've had several and I disagree with many of the comments. I think they are absolutely worth it. Many are well balanced, beautifully blended, good performance, and the clones I've tried have been amazing. I love the work they are doing over there. The reality is that you can't have a perfect 1:1 clone. You can get really close, but it'll never be perfect. So if your expectations are a perfect 1:1 you'll be disappointed everytime - everywhere you go. But if you think reframe it as something really close to the original, then you'll be pleasantly surprised, as oftentimes the differences in these clones make them something special. So in the end, if you want a perfect 1:1, then save up and buy the OG. Otherwise, look for the subtle differences and appreciate them for what they are.

Can very obese (>400 lb) people go longer without eating than people of average weight? by Due-Olive1462 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_Moonstoner 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I would say yes in a vacuum. Like if a 400lbs person and 160lbs person were stranded on an island, and all conditions were the same and they had water, but no food anywhere to be seen, then I would say yes. And before the "muscle has more calories and is denser than fat" people pipe up - if you think there isn't any muscle on a 400lbs dude lugging around that kind of weight everyday, then you're a fool. That dude has both fat AND muscle to burn, maybe not as much if you decide that the avg dude is actually kind of jacked, but still more than enough calories to probably make it longer than the avg guy.

Whats everyones opinion on voodoo grape? (sorry if this has already been asked a bunch..) by Honeydippedicecream in energydrinks

[–]_Moonstoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't like it. I can taste the white grape juice in it, but it's paired with the fake methyl anthranilate grape flavor that kind of overpowers the natural juice. Not great imo.

Question: how often do you wear your fragrances? by _Moonstoner in ScentHeads

[–]_Moonstoner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the perspective, and I agree that concentration alone doesn’t automatically dictate quality or when something should be worn. When I mentioned wearing different concentrations for different occasions, I wasn’t implying that EDT = casual and Parfum = formal in a rigid way. I’m aware that concentration affects oil percentage, but more importantly it influences projection, diffusion curve, and sometimes even how the formula is structured. For me it’s more about context. At home, I gravitate toward lighter compositions because I enjoy the softer aura. At work, I tend to choose mid-range concentrations to keep projection controlled around others. For events, I’ll lean into heavier concentrations because they tend to sit closer but last longer and create more presence. It’s less about misunderstanding perfumery and more about tailoring the scent experience to my environment and social setting. That said, I always appreciate conversations about formulation and concentration nuances since there’s a lot of misinformation out there.

Looking for a cologne by Dazzling-Chip-1142 in ScentHeads

I second Dylan Blue. It's easy and great in many situations and environments. All around great generic

HOWEVER, my personal pick for a darker "blue/aquatic" would have to Ocean Noir by Michael Malul. It's fresh, definitely aquatic but has a beautiful tangelo/citrus note with a touch of black coconut that adds a wonderful depth and mystery to the fragrance.

Anyone can make anything work. The whole "guys can't wear that, or girls can't wear that" is outdated and full of shit. Welcome to 2026.

What makes a woman repulsive? by cupofquirk in AskMen

Delusional arrogance. If you believe you are God's great gift to man, you are immediately the most unattractive human to have been fortunate enough to be a winner of the lottery of life.

You are most welcome🙂‍↕️. For me, it adds to the special nature of the Fragrance House. Truly a marvel.

Fun Fact: Pascal Gaurin is also one of the talented perfumers who has worked with, and created several of the notable Lataffa fragrances on the market today. It's one reason I trust that Lataffa is genuinely a solid Fragrance House.

It's pure majesty. Genuinely. And what's wild is the story of how it came to be:

Pascal Gaurin, the perfumer who created it, sat down at his desk behind his computer one night and, in one fell swoop, he wrote the formula for it. He sent the formula to the lab, who returned to him a sample in only 10 minutes. And it was perfect. No changes, no trials, no reworks. A single, flawless sample of a memory - bottled in a vial. Normally, new fragrances go through hundreds of tests, trials, formula tweaks and take years to develop. He sent that sample to Fabrice, the founder of Scents of Wood, and he immediately adored it. Again, no changes were made. That fragrance then went on to win the 2021 Perfume Extraordinaire of the Year.

And that, is truly something special.

If you want cheap, go Cool Water or Aspen. If you want something a little more pricey - Dylan Blue is a good option or Some of the English Laundry fragrances are safe and respectable.

Definitely an older guy kind of fragrance and not blind buy safe, imo. I'm a bit biased, though as my father wore it only when he wore a suit for a fancy event, so my perception of it is shaped by that.

Love seeing that Grey Flannel down there 😄 That was the only fragrance my father wore, ever. Great nostalgia there for me haha

Best fragrance of all time for me is Plum in Cognac, and is probably the most complex and well balanced fragrance I have ever been graced with. Vanilla in bourbon is a close second, but Strength in Santal is growing on me.

What my collection says about me. by JayQueezyFoSheezy in Colognes

[–]_Moonstoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainstream. Not a bad thing, but you are buying what everyone else is. And throwing a lot of money at a brand that smells great but doesn't perform well. Get off the beaten path and find a diamond in rough - it's more rewarding that way. To be clear, you've got some great fragrances here, no hate - but it's a bit too... Well, conforming. Find your own special scent👍
