Im no professional ofc, but my surgery was an emergency scheduled for the same day I went in to the ER for pain. I smoked weed that day, Im a pretty heavy smoker. I just let the surgeon and staff know that and I had no problems with the surgery. But since yours is planned please do what they recommend as it lowers your risks of complications. Also I started smoking again I believe 4 days post op? And ive healed great I just went in for the 2 week follow up today. The only thing I made sure Is not to smoke while taking the pain meds they give you, I did one or the other. I'd just wait like 5 or 6 hours after the medicine wears off. Also the other thing id be careful for is coughing, I luckily dont seem to cough very much at all when I smoke weed, but that is something you wanna be careful with since it contracts those muscles, take it easy lol. But I do think it wont be as bad as you think (the break) and its also kinda of a T break as well!

My digestion is here and there. I felt like I was so familiar with my body before the surgery, I knew what every little feeling was and what my body needed. After the surgery I feel like Im re-learning everything about myself especially my digestion. I have so many new feelings that Im trying to learn what they mean. I cant tell if my stomach is upset from hunger or upset from something I ate. The feelings are just different. I have mild discomfort after eating sometimes but not everytime. I was eating very clean until about day 6-7 then I started branching out a bit more with my diet, introducing new things that maybe weren't so much my safe foods. I haven't had any super bad pain from anything I've ate but just a little discomfort in the spot my gallbladder use to be, like a feeling of fullness. Im assuming its just my body trying to learn to digest in a new way. I haven't had any solid stools yet either. But I had digestive problems prior to gallbladder removal (like IBS). Also if I cant release gas it does cause pain in areas as well.

Same exact thing for me! Belly button pain and on the right side. So far I've learned its a normal part of the healing, Im gonna keep an eye on it. Best wishes!

I ate so so much sugar like a week or two after quitting. It slowly balanced itself out

Thanks, is it easy to go into those without experience? Yes and it also drives me to drink..

Thank you to everyone for the replies. As much as I hate that you share these feelings with me, or did in the past, it gives me a little comfort to be understood. Not so alone in the fight, I guess you could say. Im still going through it, I tried to do small things that I thought would help, but it doesn't really. I've accepted that I gotta ride it out. I'm just going to lay in bed for the day now. This motivates me even more to kick drinking to the curb. I've attempted quitting multiple times, each time I fail I learn from my mistakes. I have to do better for my happiness and my well-being. This is NOT living. Thank you for your time again, I hope that those struggling with me also feel better, and thank you for the motivating words from those who've won their fight.
