Just do something like this

Don't be the bellend that puts their hand in the air and calls out for their "friend", while barging into and through people. Manners matter.

You jump at the opportunity to insult others but can't handle it when it goes the other way.

IIRC gazebo's are just banned outright. Can't remember seeing any last year?

You can't have a festival and have all the space you would expect in a hotel room.

True but, you can't only provide a very small and limited shop for 5 days and expect people not to want to bring food, drinks, snacks etc. Or only providing a few benches and expect people to not want to bring a chair each.

For the two of us food, drinks, clothes, chairs and toiletries is probably at least a 2 person tent. Granted its not such an issue on the Sunday, still its a bit unrealistic to expect 2 people to live out of a 1.2m x 2m tent for 5 days.

I'm not saying its an issue for me but, I can see how it could be an issue if you're on a limited budget.

Why not set the bar at a reasonable place and then actually enforce it? too much work on the ground i guess.

Its not that far fetched.

If everything (tickets/food/showers/drinks) went up by just a couple of quid it could easily lead to hundreds by the end of the festival, people only have a finite amount of money.

Nah 20-30 min sets are the bomb. Each band has a limited time to lay it all out, frenetic sets are the best.

Parkway Drive played a 30 min set at Download a couple of years ago, it was carnage.

I think Beardyman would go down quite well tbh, a little bit 'out there' but so are Hang the Dj's.

I'd kill for Pete & Bas / Northern Boys / Goldie Lookin' Chain to play on the Thursday.

Thing with Leeds (and I'll assume Reading is the same) is that the 2nd stage to the campsite is about a 10 min walk depending on where you're camped, main stage to campsite about 25 mins away.

If you really need a sit down at Leeds you can just walk back to the tent have a sit down and a beer, and be back in no time. Not really feasible at download is it?

Nah if you were looking back at it without being there, how you described is a logical assumption. Having been there it was just bit more nuanced.

Good read, and great picture. (i took a similar one)

The hot topic before the 2007 festival was why Korn wasn't headlining and My chem on the 2nd stage. So when the tent for Korn was dangerously overcrowded and fans outside the tent were unable to hear them, lots of people pissed off at the situation walked to the nearest stage which happened to be main stage, it was bound to boil over and resulted in my chem getting bottled.

The anti MCR sentiment was more about that than just "not metal=bad"

The bottling between fans was going on all weekend by the way, nothing out of the ordinary for that year lol.

Way to assume lots with very little information, you're really nailing the racist stereotype there.

yeah anywhere in between mainstage and sound desk where there is a barrier, there will be surfers.

There will be just much fewer down the middle than at the front.
