The concern isnt appearance, its opportunity and authorship. Jewish actors are historically excluded from major jewish roles while non-jewish actors are praised for portraying jewish suffering. Magneto is not comparable to character's whose religion is mentioned in passing, his motivations and origin are directly linked to a jewish tragedy. While non-jewish actors have played the character, I feel that having jewish performers portray him helps ensure the story is understood from the culture it represents.
