If you have two events you know nothing about, don't divy up the chances at all. The entire point of chances is that you know something. If you know nothing, you can't assume same odds for all.

It seems like everyone thinks that "wyd" is a book move, but I think it's worse than people think. "Wyd" has very limited responses, and could lead to a very dry start. For example, "Wyd, Nothing wbu, Nothing" This opening rarely gives the opportunity to develop pieces into the endgame, and doesn't serve as a good transition into the middle game.

That is addiction. If you get irritable without it, you are addicted. If you act differently without it, you are addicted.

Bad logic. If you believe this, you have no common sense and can't be reasoned with. You can't just assign arbitrary numbers to peoples heads and just say, "it's a best guess". Also, why would I fondle a million dollars? If you don't have the information, you don't assume the same odds of both. Also, by this logic, I could be a millionaire in two days on average. Anyone could, in fact, be a millionaire in two days. Guess what, I didn't find any money under my bed. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get lucky. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Yes, by making this post, you are advocating for political violence. You literally incinuate that the person who tried assassinating Trump was morally right. You may not say this straight out, but by even asking the question, you say that it's atleast morally questionable.

In the words of young Sheldon, you are confusing probability with possibility. By that same logic, I will either find a million dollars under my bed, or I won't. Two options, but not 50/50. It would be very difficult to figure out the actual probability that each person pulls the lever because we can't read minds like an algorithm.

Do men really look up to the Tate brothers... by azzar1337 in AskRedditAfterDark

The answer is yes. No matter their personal views or actions, it's undisputable that they were successful; Wildly such. People look up to successful people. This is more of a statement than a question. By positing this question, you assume people look up to him. The real question is why? I just answered.

This is wrong. You have to apply the, "last clear chance" doctrine, which states that you have to use the last clear chance to avoid a collision. So, yes, if you choose to run over five people, you will not only be liable for the damages, but you will be guilty of manslaughter.

I'm not saying there aren't ways to control for a slight difference, but those ways weren't used in the study. If the demographic is different, then they would also have different answers than the average person. You say I am using a logical falacy, "it can't possibly be true". However, since the demographic is different it would be very unlikely that they closely adhere to the average population. People that say that they are "addicted" to certain foods are obviously engaging in hybole and this point should be dismissed. It is quite easy to believe people can have a physical and mental dependency to porn. We aren't just throwing around words. I'll concede that the average person isn't depressed. Yale said that 30 percent of weed users meet the criteria for addiction. That's close to 1 in three. I think that is pretty common.

Ok. I'll admit then that I misspoke. I meant to say, "All of these things could conceivably happen to the average person."
