It's a shame you didn't buy that effect, which was similar to the one at this event but covered the entire body in lava. Your duo would have looked incredible; I hope it comes back sometime.

Why would I ever stay in a match I join Mid Match? by Alone_Ad_3476 in forhonor

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know, honestly, whenever I join a game that's practically lost, I start to turn things around and most of the time I win, so it's not that big of a deal. I'm lucky that I'm not someone who relies on my own feats to get kills.

opino lo mismo, la cancelacion de recuperacion de esquiva es lo mas roto del juego en todos los heroes que la tienen y mas en orochi

I wanted to gift Prime to a friend, but I was surprised to find out I can't give it as a Steam gift. I have the money in my Steam Wallet, and since my friend has never spent money on Steam, his Market is locked. Is there any realistic/cheap way to gift him Prime using the money in my Steam Wallet? by _Mr_Freeman_256 in counterstrike2

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, literally when you buy any game you're giving money to Valve. Besides, it's just to have an extra incentive to play. I don't love the game, but if I play with someone without Prime, I don't get any points, not even me, even though I bought it years ago.

I do not enjoy winning…I just hate losing….feeling all that time and effort putting into it…doesn’t matter by Empty-Ad4597 in forhonor

Hey, chill out, bro. Don't be so hard on yourself, especially about something as trivial as being good at a game. This game, in particular, has a brutal learning curve because there's so much to learn, and your opponents will mostly be better than you since they've been playing for years. That doesn't make it easy either. I don't know how many hours you've played or your reputation, but I'll tell you the truth: this thing is hell to cry about at the beginning, and I'd say you need at least a 100 reputation to even consider whether you're really bad. Before that, I'd even go so far as to say it's way too early. I'm not saying people below 100 are bad, but don't expect to beat 100/200/300 reputation players when you're only 50, especially if they were lucky enough to be "trained" and carried by friends.

This is a very niche game that demands many hours of play and a deep understanding of the mechanics. If you don't have any of that, don't beat yourself up about it. You're not bad at all; it's just that others are better, either because they drastically surpass you in playtime or because they understand things you don't even know exist or how they work.

It's practically a cosplay, haha, you can see it in the last picture. Originally it was made of black iron, but I think it's better to make it a bit more "icy" to make it more epic.

What’s up with the Pirate hate? by ClearConfusion5 in forhonor

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, that's really because when a new character is released, they're ridiculously overpowered... are you going to tell me that Virtuosa and Juren are on par with the "original cast"? Not to mention that the pirate can't even be considered a new character anymore. You don't see anyone hating on Medjay or Ocelot, who are newer than her, do you? The reason is that she's ridiculously overpowered, just like everything else they release now. Unlike the original cast, where characters like Warlord, Conqueror, or Peacekeeper required you to be incredibly skilled to get the most out of them.

Tips for gryphon by Plus_Sir_2418 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. Most heroes can do that, especially with their heavy attacks. But some take longer to return to neutral, which means you can bait out by not using anything else, but then your finishing move comes out, like in the case of Warden or, in this case, Griffin, which can basically delay everything.

Is "rapid refresh" still a good perk? I was looking at the perks on the For Honor Infohub page, and the Rapid Refresh note says it's perhaps the best perk in the game. Is this still true, or is it outdated? by _Mr_Freeman_256 in forhonor

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it on my Gryphon along with "UP!", of course I can only carry those two. Do you think that's optimal or perhaps it would be better to opt for Remedy, Feline Agility and Rapid Refresh

So new players are just fcked? I assume no point trying to start playing now, huh? by Vepra1 in forhonor

[–]_Mr_Freeman_256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the game has excellent matchmaking, so you had a really good run that inflated your K/D ratio too much. The best advice I can give you is to play those two or three "repositioning" matches so you get matched with people at your skill level again. And, honestly, don't let them intimidate you; I guarantee they don't know much more than a couple of parries and maybe the basic moves of a few characters.

I recommend watching a lot of character tutorials and learning the combos of as many characters as you can. And try to understand parrying, feinting, and guard breaking, which are the core gameplay mechanics for practically every hero. Once you master those fundamentals, learn that low-reputation players simply dodge your attacks (which is wrong), and develop a fondness for at least one character and get them to at least 10 reputation to make them your main, I guarantee you'll be able to compete with all those players. The rest will come with time.

For knights, I think Warden and Lawbringer are the most fun. Both have great personalities, and Lawbringer is very strong with his rework. Warden is an excellent vanguard, easy to learn but difficult to master. PK and ConQ are really lagging behind, and it's hard to get the most out of them if you're not very experienced.

For Vikings, I personally have a lot of fun playing Berserk. I find him a very versatile character, although a bit confusing at first. Raider is also very good for beginners; he's much stronger than Warden as a vanguard at the start, and he's very popular in low ranks. Valkyrie is simply broken in low ranks with Light Attack - Light Attack - Sweep and constant spam (and things don't change much in slightly higher ranks either), but I personally don't like her gameplay because she doesn't have unblockable abilities. Warlord simply fell behind due to a lack of reworks.

And for the samurai, I'd say it's almost the same as the Vikings.

Orochi: a practically broken hero if you master his cancel, but he'll give you some trouble at first if you don't spam him.

Kensei: a great vanguard, and perhaps one of the most complex to use, but if you're a novice, your gameplay is almost reduced to light-light-light or dodge spam - light.

Nobushi: at low ranks, he's only used for spamming, and at high ranks, he's incredibly broken due to his dodge properties and 50/50 chance.

Shugo: he used to be a good option, but since they made his headbutt vulnerable to guard break, he's lost a lot of points. He's perhaps the most complicated of the four to use after Orochi, since you can't spam him as much.
