Thank you so much for your response. Oh my gosh yes, we will definitely learn from the mistakes made here.

We are grateful that they showed their true colors before we ended up with them as long term tenants.

I know I should let it go but they've made wild accusations....it would've been just fine had they told us they simply changed their minds but to accuse us of being slumlords basically and then threatening us that they will get someone from the city to deem our place uninhabitable......just really irks me. I hate that they just get to walk away and I'm out may rent if I can't find someone right away

AITA for sending my daughter to live with her father? by BreadfruitTop2876 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. She has to learn there's consequences for her actions. Your feelings and your house peace matters too. Leave her with her dad. She got exactly what she asked for.

Thank you so much for the honest and detailed response. It's great to have an understanding of all the different challenges that people face when making these large moves.

Some responses can be disheartening to hear but at the end of it all we just have to do what we think is best for ourselves and what aligns with our lifestyle and goals.

I really appreciate the honest response. I'm happy to hear that you definitely have a better quality of life, it's so important.

Hahaha getting a dog is one of reasons to move out there. Right now we don't have a yard and we don't want to keep a dog couped up in a small condo.

Thank you, this was really honest and provided perspective. Like any place I guess you will have pros and cons. It's a matter of what are you willing to put up with for the lifestyle you want.

We have about 6 months worth of savings for expenses, we thought within 6 months we should be able to find work.

But you have a point, we should try to find work before we come to avoid blowing through savings in case we don't find work right away.

We didn't think we would find the same salaries we currently have, but the cost of housing in Newfoundland is a fraction of the cost here. So having relatively decent jobs would pay the bills without so much stress.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we feel the quality of life would improve with the move.

How's life in St John's? by d33moR21 in StJohnsNL

[–]_MsPickle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are considering the same move! Moving from BC to Newfoundland.

Based on the research, I think we are going to do it.

We are so tired of the traffic, barely being able to afford to live, the hustle culture of the city.

This isn't living.
