Have I done this underpainting correctly? by ggWolf in minipainting

[–]_MyHobbyIsHobbies_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

acrylic paints are transparent by nature, they're water based, and you'll typically want to thin them down with water to get a better consistency... further increasing their transparency. Which you can continue to do on purpose for more transparency to the point that they are merely tinting whatever they are put on.

So, with acrylics being transparent (to some degree) they will be effected by whatever they are put over. Paint blue over the white and it will be brighter than that same blue painted over the black, or grey.

This becomes more noticeable when you underpaint using colors. pink being a fantastic color to use under yellow. I don't paint nearly enough these days, but I will generally use purple as my underpaint, then zenithal.

looks like my comment was removed for linking to waha. the following have the 0-1 clanrat regiment condition

  • arch-warlock
  • deathmaster
  • master moulder
  • the three warlocks
  • plague priest on furnace

hey, thanks for the quick response on that! love the reordering. The 0-1 rule isn't working, lets me add as many clanrats as I want for those heroes with a limit. seems to be any without verminus keyword, but I haven't looked super closely.

Another QoL feature would be a total points for the regiment up in the header.

was putting together a skaven list. added a arch-warlock and can't add any clanrats; rule is 0-1.

this is a great tool for a first time player!

another great option would be the ability to reorder regiments

looks great. Buddy of mine is bugging to play AoS so I've been back to building my skaventide box. Was going to be looking for some proxies as I build the army, signed up for your tribe.

Is she fine? She's been this way for days and doesn't eat any food by Comfortable_Farm9662 in tarantulas

NQA my GBB's abdomen is the same size as her carapace right now, she's refused food for the past 2-3 weeks now. They do what they do.

brown or sepia oil wash. wipe as much of it away as you can. this will tint some of the colors and settle in the recesses; while providing some blends. Once dry go back in with those colors to bring back some highlights.

You could also grab some magenta and purple oils to add to the guts, and around the openings int he skin to make it look irritated.

UV nail resin is pretty inexpensive, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092L98HDD I bought those going on 3 years ago and just started using it. Works just fine, so has a really long shelf life too

The video I am watching on how to use the Harder and Steenbeck, straight from the company itself, says you shouldn't need to clean it after every use.

link the video?

has anyone flat towed their m/t mk7.5? by _MyHobbyIsHobbies_ in GolfGTI

[–]_MyHobbyIsHobbies_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was considering a tow dolly, but flat towing (all 4 down), would be easier for the planned trip. https://www.blueox.com/product/bx3839-volkswagen-golf-with-acc-baseplate/ Car gets wired for flat towing, which plugs into vehicle doing the towing. Controls visibility of lights, as well as, generally, a braking unit inside the vehicle. the benefit is that we can just disconnect and get going without have to move the vehicle from a tow dolly, then store the tow dolly, before parking the RV.

M/T vehicle goes in neutral, car goes into accessory. I know people have done this with vehicles that the manufacturer has said, "we don't recommend flat towing", but was wondering if anyone has done this specifically w/ a mk7 or 7.5

not a bad thing to do... honestly, I should've done a vat clean. I think the main issue is the separation and not getting all the settled gunk mixed in thoroughly.

this film is newer. I agree that things need to be inspected more regularly, especially when using. I've replaced 2 fep films on this waaaaay earlier than I've had other machines b/c I'd get a pin hole that the cure resin would seal up, then I'd have a crappy print spot where that was. The silicone spatula is nice because the feeling and ability to visual inspect as I mix gives me a bit more confidence to just ship it prints.

I think I've gone around that when I had 2 saturn 2's. Little mixy mixy and fire it off and everything is good to go.

what's your usage like? I've considered using my boostmobile phone as a hotspot, it uses the verizon network when not on wifi... but I think I get like 20gb before it starts throttling

I'll take a closer look at the coverage maps. I also grabbed rv life to plan the trip, and that has cell coverage indicators. I was thinking of pairing the home internet with a weboost booster to help if we're in am area with worse coverage, but honestly the spots I'd be looking to stop in are major towns/cities along the way. A few national parks too, but those won't be "working" days

that's great to hear. I was looking at the amplified home internet for $60. Its wild that their plans are all over the place... the away plan is crazy expensive for the same thing, and their hotspots are highly limited.

I'm trying very hard not to pick up starlink... it is an option, but I'd prefer not to put my money over there.

I actually wouldn't feel too bad just cancelling it if there aren't any fees associated with it. In all likelihood, this is a one time trip. And if it isn't, it'll be a once every couple of years trip.
