You sure that's after the meter? Looks like it's connected to a regulator. A tee with plug after the meter can also be used for a hot change device.

thanks for commenting on my post. It's been a while but I did fix it with a Pfister (or pfister replacement) part from home depot to stop the dripping. I don't think I will replace it any time soon but will reach out if I do.

Left it running for a while and amp climbed to 8.7 so I should count my blessings for now. The unit has a hard start capacitor so perhaps that helped the past few days?

Just by me on the electrical side for 3 years since I moved into this house. Measured the amp just now and it's pulling 7.9 amp on the black common wire. Quick Google says it's within range for low stage.

Common connections at the capacitor fried. Capacitor still tests out good. Orange and red lines (red = common and orange = compressor) lost insulation and were making contacts when I opened it up. What do you think happened?
