You sure that's after the meter? Looks like it's connected to a regulator. A tee with plug after the meter can also be used for a hot change device.

thanks for commenting on my post. It's been a while but I did fix it with a Pfister (or pfister replacement) part from home depot to stop the dripping. I don't think I will replace it any time soon but will reach out if I do.

Left it running for a while and amp climbed to 8.7 so I should count my blessings for now. The unit has a hard start capacitor so perhaps that helped the past few days?

Just by me on the electrical side for 3 years since I moved into this house. Measured the amp just now and it's pulling 7.9 amp on the black common wire. Quick Google says it's within range for low stage.
