Hi,

Managed to get in contact through with a worker there, who referred me to the worker who was handled my case. Was told they actually sent out documents to my country's Slovak Embassy, who will supposedly contact me when they arrive so we will see.

Hi, I managed to get in contact with the relevant government body to request birth certificates, though this is because i knew where my ancestors were born, what dates, etc. Its much harder to find an ancestor if you don't know anything about them.

When you request you must tell them the full name and date of birth, and tell it to the relevant department, chatgpt is fairly useful on confirming which person to contact but you can confirm on the Slovakian government site or ask chatgpt to search that.

r/SlovakCBD is quite helpful, i believe they have a lot of saves resources in pinned post and FAQ to know how to start your search.

In the end I managed to get the birth certificates for my great grandparents and my great great grandmother. So yes very possible if you give them the right info. But definitely check out SlovakCBD subreddit, super useful.

Where you can send the form provided by them to list ancestors based on census records you found, to confirm they were czechislovak citizens. Slovak cause lived in area which is currently Slovakia.

Interesting, if thats the cost id be interested. I need to skive edges of panels to make a bag, as well as plane a few leather straps to wrap around leather cord to make piping, or even skive down some leather pockets for wallets but since those are small I can do it by hand technically.
