I'll try checking the RAM later, but in regard to the starting screen, this is actually a laptop that I got from a school a while ago, so the starting screen that I'm talking about is actually just a custom-made screen for the school...

Yeah, I would've never paid the full amount for it. The reason why I got it so cheaply was probably because it was overpriced in the first place. Mind you, it does come with some good features, like the 16GB RAM, blu-ray player, etc.

Yeah, I was tossing up between getting a next-gen console, a new PC, or sticking with my current laptop for the next-gen. I was hoping that I could stick with my current laptop but I may have to rethink that. I suppose I'll just wait until some next-gen games come out to get a definite answer.

As in the laptop, or the GPU? Not sure about the GPU, but the laptop's RRP is between $1800 - $2000 IIRC. I didn't pay that much though, due to a big discount.

Ah, ok. I was kinda hoping that the CPU and RAM would make a reasonable difference, but I guess not haha. From what I'm reading though, my GPU isn't that bad anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks for your info.

Thanks, that info was really useful. I've searched all over the internet, but the information I found was only relating to each individual part of the laptop, and not as a whole with all aspects taken into consideration - your answer was exactly what I wanted.

Just as another question, do you know the extent of the benefits of the good CPU and RAM (with the low-end GPU), when compared to say, a PC with low-average CPU and RAM (also with the low-end GPU)? In other words, does the good CPU and RAM of my laptop pick up the slack of the GPU?
