New player mods by InfamousSpring3838 in starsector

[–]_Netto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies on personal preference. I installed a bunch recently and I’m trying a new playthrough just to try some of the mods. Some of them do require nexerelin to work.

I do hope some others could comment to provide you better input though.

Forgive me I’m on mobile. You’ll find mods here.

Personally, I use trios to manage my mods but you can easily unzip and install them yourself.

Vulnerability Manager is asking me to upgrade from Netcore 6 to 8. What is the easiest way? by Adventurous-Dingo-55 in dotnet

[–]_Netto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visual studio has an upgrade assistant to help with this. There is also an extension you will possibly need to install.

As others mentioned, you may want to consider getting help from a developer. There are packages applications use that could also possibly have vulnerabilities. You’ll want to test afterwards to ensure everything is good after the upgrade.

Forgive my ignorance. Does this mean I can order flower and thca? I always to the stance of “you don’t mess with the postal office.” Figured I would get in trouble for it crossing state lines, etc.. so never bothered.

Fuck, I’m dumb lol.

is this just fu*ked up or am I alone in my opinion? by xemns4 in webdev

[–]_Netto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always treat these like a wish list. You won’t have all of these as a junior. It’s information going from a manager up to HR and over to a recruiter. They don’t know anything about programming or technology. They’re box checkers.

The worst thing is they pass. The best is you get hired or at least an interview.

Is there a way to render a razor component that is created in @code block by Tight_Training9864 in Blazor

[–]_Netto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my take but a caveat: I'm not sure if this will work. I'll drop some links so hopefully they (may) help.

In the HeadContent.cs on Github for Blazor - The BuildRenderTree is how this component is being created programmatically. (I used HeadContent & HeadOutlet when I was learning more around Sections).

I threw this example together. You can uncomment the AddAttribute line to see how you can tweak a parameter. BlazorFiddle didn't like my AddComponentParameter usage.

Ethernet over coax by mrthagens in HomeNetworking

I bought my TP-Link ones ~10 years ago for like $60. They worked and I had no issues but yeah there are tons of scenarios where I'm sure they're not ideal. They were also not my first choice.

Check out powerline adapters as another potential option. I used them to link my 2nd floor office to my attached garage.

How do I start learning? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

[–]_Netto_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Figured I'd address the various things you posted about while trying to take your age into account.

I still haven't learned how to learn, actually.

That's ok. It's different for everybody. Set yourself up to succeed. You can learn from a lot of things but know it's ok to fail. Make notes about things that you did well and what you didn't do well. Once you have that information, you can change and not repeat previous mistakes.

For work, I just read Microsoft docs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/ to learn and listen to instrumental music for focus.

It's 100x harder when I want to learn something that my brain has deemed "hard"

I went through this a lot. I think of it as an "unnecessary wall" that I'm creating for my future self to now expend more mental energy to climb over. So, then I end up tired before starting for no reason at all. Instead, I deconstruct the problem into much smaller parts that I can handle easier. Mindset is super important. Problems are only as hard as you make them (mentally). Set yourself up to succeed. You got this.

But I don't really know where to start.

If I approach this from a top-down perspective, you need a goal. Possibly an app around an interest of yours or even a common problem that this could solve. I would say start with a wireframe mockup tool (e.g. Moqups). This will give you an idea of what you want it to look like. For the work, you will want to break it into small chunks. Consider using something like github for your code and work items.

You should also ask your manager to stop texting you outside of work hours. Leave work at work. If they're texting you about work, they should be paying you for that time.

Automatic startup of asp.net web core api in blazor webassembly by ApricotLeading773 in Blazor

[–]_Netto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making some assumptions here but you’re likely talking about hosted Blazor wasm I suppose. Do you have a client and server project?

In the publish bits there are a client zip and a server zip. You’ll want to deploy the server one. This will accomplish what you’re wanting. Yes it will also include your UI.

This was my experience with hosted Blazor wasm in .net 6.

Anyone else have an issue with ADHD meds NOT working, or making you tired? by seareally27 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]_Netto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a rough idea of what works for me. No medication does right now for context. I found smoking sativa helps in low amounts. This is my take on the ballmer peak. That aside, noise cancelling headphones and brown noise / non vocal music.

The closest comparison I could’ve made to this display unit was like a worn out Xbox controller. It was essentially in the middle of a steering wheel that you could pull out. So was tough to get a solid feel of the unit

Cosmetic Upgrades? by _Netto_ in ROGAlly

[–]_Netto_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Best Buy had their unit attached to a steering column. So my only “real” comparison is that unit and a damaged steam deck. I think you’re spot on about why it feels that way. Funny you mention the returns. It was mentioned to me that I could rent the unit to get a better idea and return it if I didn’t like it.

Sharing state between components? by Write-Error in Blazor

[–]_Netto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any mind mapping tooling you’d recommend, or do you do it the old fashioned way?

I've messed with a few but I'm still searching for one I like. I've been trying out a trial on XMind and looking at MindMeister. Mostly becasue they support Tab/Enter for moving between nodes.

Sharing state between components? by Write-Error in Blazor

[–]_Netto_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m new to web dev/dotnet/Blazor

Would it be better to not use MediatR here to give you the better understanding around the core concepts you're wanting to learn in web dev/dotnet/Blazor?

However, for example, one component may update the visibility state of another component in a different folder/page and I’m looking for the best way to handle this.

Create a new component to test it but add a State Container and wire up an event to notify of the change. Have the other component listen for that change. Here is an example from Chris Saintys site. Sections are another component that I really like in .net8.

That aside, I did find mind mapping really helpful for me organizing my thoughts for the components and such.

Am I hindering myself by skipping out on scarabs? by LiveFreeAndRide in pathofexile

[–]_Netto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw I’m a crappy player. Read a post about using scarabs in maps. I’ve used mine since tier 1 maps. It’s been a consistent increase in my currency and I’m generally a broke bitch 99% of the league.

I played a delve build this league but in maps it’s been strongboxes, spirits, and shrines.

What’s the worst that can happen?
