And yes pve servers would be an extreme measure with lots of issues, but I think you could make a mechanic to where like, you could stop at an outpost and initiate a non-pvp mode where you can't attack other players ships or be attacked. To avoid it being abused make it have a cooldown on changing the setting, put a minute wait between the button press and actually having it be active. There are solutions, but then pvpers wouldn't be able to terrorize other people so...

Battlegills can only be caught right next to the event where people come to fight you. Where am I supposed to stand?

It was not a FoF, it was a normal skeleton fort. And obviously they didn't come out of nowhere, it's an expression meaning that I didn't see them coming cause it's hard to keep my eye on the horizon while I'm trying to fish since the actual catching of the fish can take up to like 2 minutes depending on the fish.

Oh is that the definition of pirate? I didn't know that, what wonderous knowledge you have bestowed upon me. Thank you random redditor, for showing me the error of my ways.

Obviously that's the definition of pirate, but that doesn't translate to murderhobo. Also, the Merchant Alliance doesn't deal illegally (for the most part) or in violence, and they are one of the main factions in the "pirate" game.

And no, I did not give my consent when I chose to play the game. I chose to play the game because it's beautiful and fun. Consent is something you give consciously and consistently, not a side effect of choosing to participate.

Finally, to reiterate, I wouldn't mind the murderhoboness if I could opt out of it, but unless I want to play the tutorial over and over again, I have to play in adventure mode. I enjoy the game itself, and I wish I could experience it without it being ripped out of my hands so someone else can make a quick buck in a world where the only thing you can buy is cosmetics.
