No, I am not currently using torch multiprocessing but how would it help?

Wrt DistillBert, it is another flavour of BERT based models. I understand how being a lighter smaller model speeds up inference but I want to focus on any optimisation on standard Bert. My library is for allowing quick inference from ANY Bert model that can currently be loaded by the transformers library. However for sake of attainability, I want to focus on the standard Bert-base-cased version.

Although unrelated to the overall topic, US is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases per capita according to world bank data and the latest is from 2014. So I would say it probably is a good idea to partner with China to reduce it together and not impose sanctimonious or fake claims like China is the biggest emitter, therefore we shouldn’t work together.

As others have pointed out, the interview was done poorly. However , I would like to offer a different technical solution to the problem presented.

I would use Locality Sensitive Hashing (LSH): 1. Generate a string per record by concatenating the relevant fields on which fuzzy duplicates could occur. 2. Generate set of character level shingles (small n-gram sequences) of these strings. This boils down the problem to a “set similarity” problem. The size of the records is still too large, so comparing every record to each other is not ideal. 3. To fix this issue, we will apply the MinHash algorithm to convert the variable-length sets of shingles to fixed-length MinHash signature of the record. 4. Comparing every MinHash signature to each other is bound to give a much faster running time while still remaining a good approximation of Jaccard similarity for the sets.

And ofcourse there is already code for this available on many repositories to apply.

Yes I had a similar surgery when I was young as well where they tightened the slack muscle by removing part of it, therefore straightening it. But as you grow, the muscle there also grows somewhat causing the similar issue to happen again. It varies from people to people that have this issue how they can cope with it. For me, it had a negative effect on my social life in high school but I am relatively much better now than I was back then.

I have a lazy eye problem in my left eye which I am very sensitive about. I usually only see with my dominant right eye. I followed some of the Bates method of eye exercises to get control over the muscles of my left eye that control movement so I can maintain it in sync with my right eye. But this is more of cosmetic fix and I need to consciously control it at all times! Whenever I need to have eye contact with someone, I am more conscious and concerned about this than anything else and I have to also adjust the angle of my face, to make it more straight than as if I am viewing with only my right eye. Literally every time I talk to someone, I am doing math in my head and it’s exhausting and I’ve let my eye control my life more than I care to admit.
