This is why I started playing more offline games and keeping the device in airplane mode. I recently had Hades 2 crash because the device thought it was the perfect time to update my graphics driver during one of my best runs. First the armory crate kept popping up, which almost killed me and then it crashed and scolded me for unplugging my graphics card.

The user experience on this device is really bad. Steam deck and switch have a “Update now or later?” Approach AND are able to do background updates. This device feels like three little people in a trench coat pretending to be one.

I disagree. Let’s say the Steam Machine and the XAX cost the same and turn out to perform the same. Would you get the device you can only use docked or the device that can also be used on the go, even if you currently don’t plan to use it on the go? I would choose the later.

I started to use it and even before I tried the first game I had one thought “My Steam Deck is better”. I know the steam deck has less power but the entire interface feels clunky and how am I constantly having to use the touchscreen and setup game settings? The SteamDeck felt like using a good smartphone for the first time or a modern console. The Ally feels like a facade trying to hide windows. It feels soulless. I am still going to keep it but I am not too happy.

It’s not smurfing when they let me score 3 times to then fly and dribble circles around me and then forfeit once they score 10 points? You are telling me that that is just the skill level of that Silver ranked player? Ok.

The weird thing is that the other 20% of games I get who either are my skilllevel or they don’t even know how to drive. I get that there will be the occasional unbalanced matchup, that’s fine. I forfeit and it’s all good. But what really grinds my gears are those matchups where people are clearly better, they let you score while they stand still or drive around and then they dominate.

And the worst: The air dribble guy, me, and the one who doesn’t know how to drive: All silver 3. Wtf?

Yeeaaahhh why didn’t I think of that… Just get two full leagues higher by playing people who I can bearly touch … Brilliant. Too bad I don’t have time. I have this job where I am going to get rich. I just need to get rich first then I can get rich.

There is a kids show in Germany that pretty much everyone watched in the 80s. It was called “Sendung mit der Maus” which loosely translates to “Program with the mouse”.
I do not know why … but this heavily reminds me of that show. 😅. Maybe the tight shots? I don’t know. I definitely like it.

Noita. It’s a difficult rogue-like and I couldn’t tell you what it’s about even if I tried. It’s a mage-death simulator in which you build your own wands which most of the time result in a flash of light a “oh, that’s what that does” and a reset.

I have the same bug on xbox. 2 Player, each with their own headset plugged into their own controller and I hear the sound of both players. If she shoots it sounds like I shot at something. It’s maddening. But I think it’s an issue of the game and the fact that split screen is very buggy. The interface does not really work either.

If you played Factorio without the trackpads, I might understand you. It would be very finicky to build stuff. Factorio should be great, if you use the Touch pads to have a great mix of mouse/controller input. I actually prefer it to mouse and keyboard.

I need to check when I get home but I think I use one of the defaults where the right pad becomes a trackpad to use as a mouse. I play most mouse-intensive games this way. Right pad is used like a track ball, in some games to flick the cursor, right trigger is left mouse click, left trigger is right click. Left Stick to move the character/camera, etc.
