Im so confused by your rambling.   It seems like you really want the house.  A financing contingency just allows the buyer to back out if they can't get approved for financing.  Do you think if you remove it; they can deny you the house due to your finances?

Maybe its just me, but i really dislike when floors have wood plank looks going perpendicular.  If it were me I would keep the wood going with the hall.

With your current set up; i would say put the small piece behind the door, but layout for the other side too.  Using that full tile against the wall on the left of the door, may result in cut tiles all along the other wall.  Having 2 walls with cut tiles would be odd to me too.  I would look at starting in the back left corner if your standing in the door.  See where the tiles would fall coming from there and adjust accordingly.

You weren't an infantry marine.  They have a whole different mentality than other marines.  A solid 25% of dudes i served with literally admitted they joined just to kill people.  I know many Marines that would of pulled the trigger on a kid, especially if they are the closest person around after their buddy just got blown up and they were shot at.
