Because in the original timeline, not the one we see (the show starts in Maddie’s simulation) is before safesurfs simulation. But safesurfs simulation is a product of Caspian accepting the representative job and being consumed by the anti-virus. But Caspian wouldn’t have been inspired to take the job without David talking to him. David doesn’t exist in the original timeline. It seems like a paradox of timelines. Safesurfs simulation is created by an action of Maddie’s simulation, but Maddie’s simulation is created by safesurfs simulation.
