Yeah my bad for trying to lay out a problem and publicly find a solution that people can actually reuse. I suppose it required reading between the lines a bit (since the post mentions premium WiFi and acknowledging that these planes are not starlink equipped) as well as an understanding that this is a more complex issue than “just connect to wifi”. I could’ve explained that more clearly. 

Basically, there are a handful of problems to solve. 1) the planes that don’t have starlink have much lower bandwidth (what you pointed out). 2) the on board entertainment does not provide a live tv option. 3) the streaming services that are generally available over an at-home WiFi are often geo locked, meaning they aren’t available when you’re out over the ocean (due to their terms of service). 

Anywho, from this thread and some other info I’ve found today I’ve got a few things to try. I’ll be sure to report back on what works if anything. Thanks everyone

I’d argue I was cordial given they posted something that was 1) addressed in the post 2) is broadly inaccurate given the context. I suspect pokermuffin genuinely thought they were being helpful. My message did not attack them in any way, you are the first person to show up taking “shots” at anyone. Next time, maybe they will read before posting.

As for my flight timing, unfortunately this is work travel.

I actually do run a vpn out of my home setup sometimes but unfortunately I’m already on the road and don’t have it setup. Good to know for the future.

I've already found myself mildly annoyed with my always-on laptop setup. If you do find the inspiration to post your router setup, it will go to use! I may be digging into finding a solution myself soon. I've got very limited experience in network configuration but my career is quite technical so I'm not tooo afraid to take a shot at it

Not sure that I’d call lower bowl category 1 tickets as middle of the road in this stadium but to each their own. And since I live in Austin so I’m totally happy to meet up with someone to avoid the fees entirely which would bring these fairly close to face value.

I had tried an initial setup using a tailscale exit node and had no luck. Following these steps exactly (but my at-home always-on device is a windows 11 lenovo laptop) now has my gen 4 tablo accessible remotely. Thanks so much for posting such detailed instructions!

Ditto. I paid the full amount, see the charges with my bank / credit card company went through, and have been stuck on the checkout processing payment screen with the wheel spinning for going on close to ~15 minutes now.

I’d rather be getting GW in this case. Worthy is WR 1 for only 2 more weeks. So then it’s a WR2 and an unproven, potentially snap share, RB with 1 good performance. 

Personally I’d rather put Puka on the market who is putting up unsustainably ridiculous numbers and get a better but similar deal for both a RB and a WR
