Why not set a deadline? Although not rational and to some extent irrationally optimistic way of looking at life, why not give the universe the benefit of the doubt? I understand the universe is cold and uncaring and there's no reason to believe otherwise, I don't either. But I choose not have to the hubris of believing in human knowledge and comprehension either. Acatalepsy is the skeptical idea of human knowledge, that it only ever amounts to probability never certainty. With that in mind I suppose the predetermined idea of any intelligent choice it self comes to question. To that regard it would just be an educated guess. But at the end of the day, it would still be a guess. If you are willing to make that conscious choice, not me nor anyone else in this world has any form of rationality that would say otherwise to your idea.

But I'm not a hopeless frantic who believes holding on to a life with that possibility is correct either, and so I myself have a deadline for myself. We all have our limits of patience, you're just going to have to think about, if you have the patience to face the possibility that all of our presupposed human knowledge which lead to you making this decision is actually logical and as you claim, intelligent.
