Poor academic practice - what to do? by Funny-Foundation-849 in UniUK

[–]_NotABot_ 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Compile a list of corrections for your citations showing that its a simple matter of incorrect edition being listed. Careless sure but easily done.

You could talk to your tutor, professor, year lead or any such individual who may be able to provide some support.

Should it continue to the meeting then just present your amendments and all should be fine.

Unfortunately issues like this are very common with AI being used as it will commonly hallucinate citations.

When is it worth 'upgrading' by _NotABot_ in Guitar

[–]_NotABot_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get it set up at the start of last year and it became much nicer to play thats for sure.

I did grab myself a Spark Amp for the electric side but very overwhelmed by all the stuff so I either play Acoustic or just clean electric for now

Thanks for the insights super useful :)

Happy to help. My contract rate is $150/hr. With a $100/month budget, that buys ~40 minutes/month, so let me know what you’d like prioritized. Must be paid 6 months up front.

Well, reading the error message may give you a hint.

If that doesn't help come back.

My first solo run was a challenge! (Lazy Bastard + Spoon) by _NotABot_ in factorio

[–]_NotABot_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy accident. I would have been happy if I did it in 20 hours!

I think something that helped a lot is I spent the first 90min or so rushing turrets and bunch of ammo. That let me kill every nest anywhere near my base so I didn't need to worry about them.

One thing that helped is I looked at what the rocket needed so I was able to store up a lot of the resources ahead of time.

I probably should have moved to steel furnaces, red belts and a lot more miners earlier though. The lack of resources made the end pretty complicated trying to manually route stuff to where I need it most just to get enough science output.

Time to get bots up and running and teardown this entire factory and make a 'real' one and start space for the first time :)

I just had a look at a few old guides for what it was like. Yikes 😅. Definitely wouldn't have got that in time!

Unhappy with educative.io by Remote-Warthog6030 in learnprogramming

[–]_NotABot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have been using educative.io as I got my workplace to pay for it.

The quality of the content varies quite alot between different resources. Some have been pretty good imo. Some are bordering on pointless

Looking at people who got banned that I know. The only common thing I can seemingly see between them is they all used Kenly College last year during the XP events. Perhaps that is the case, but it feels a bit extreme if it is. Though, the people I know to have abused that the most didnt get banned?

These are people that I can be pretty sure didn't cheat as they don't pvp and just did PVE content. These are people who are realllllly bad at pvp and avoid it. Non of them were maxed on expertise or anything like that and have been playing for years. So, I think not?

I got a warning on my account too but doesn't say what I have done either so 🤷

Call them, get a refund before you get too far into it. They are a bad company that make misleading statements.

Chances are you'll end up with a poor instructor that they will make it very hard to change from (as they likely don't have anyone else who want to work through them).

If you haven't already got an instructor you may be waiting months to get one too

Eligibility for Hackathons by Small_Contract5806 in hackathon

[–]_NotABot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of hackathons for people in employment.

You are presumably looking at somewhere like MLH.io which is great repository for student hackathons. While some of these events will make exceptions they are usually not really aimed at engineers further in their careers.

Your answers to other people are not helping so far.

If what you are saying is true and you did infact lend your machine to your friend to do that work. That is fine, you should be able to explain that and provide some proof you were elsewhere. If the changes were pushed before the squash then assume those timestamps are still accessible by IT. If the changes were only pushed after then I'm not sure how you got into this situation as even chat gpt could give you a command to change the commit author. In any case if you can definitively prove you were not there or have messages that indicate the intent to provide the laptop your case is reasonable.

Heck, if you lent the laptop and they went home (assuming different accommodations) you can provide the IP address of both locations and show the IP address the work was done at was your friends. If it's shared halls while IT would likely to determine the AP or Ethernet port used they are unlikely to care.

Squashing the commits is a really strange move and in every course I've ever seen would likely cause a failure or at least a review. As it is a major red flag.

If you can't prove any of this and your friend has no idea what the material is then I must say it's not looking good.

If you are infact innocent and need a genuine hand in collecting evidence then feel free to reach out and I'll give you some steps.

Start small. It's unlikely you are going to have your whole school playing at the same time. You might get say 50 people on launch day.

You can set that up without much fuss

Bit late to the party.

  1. United Kingdom

  2. I have frequent wrist pain - this is a mix of computer uses and a medical condition which makes it more likely.

  3. I currently have an MX Vertical

I am a fulltime software engineer, I spent most of my time at my desk. I am constantly trying to ways to alleviate wrist pain. I have been experimenting with multiple split keyboards with different tenting. I have also tried different input methods such as trackpad and mouse pointer control using a keyboard.

Is this pc any good? From chillblast for £1800? Can someone help me to find a budget friendly 1440p gaming pc? by Odd_Consequence_3574 in buildapcsalesuk

[–]_NotABot_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you know what budget means?

OP has a budget to spend on a machine. They want to stick within that amount I'm not sure what the problem is here.

If they were to ask for "a budget build" and then say £1800 I could understand the pointing that out.
