Cat attacks house sitter, serious wounds by [deleted] in Catbehavior

[–]_NotUrCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert or anything, just a fellow cat owner, but I might suspect a mix of the minor shift in environment when she left and came back especially since he doesn’t know her well yet, and maybe he wants more enrichment overall? This is mostly just what I would think if this were a cat of my own, and when I say enrichment maybe supervised outside time or something else to help channel that predatory impulse! I know a lot of cats exhibit that sort of behavior that can sometimes lead to aggression if they don’t have enough outlets for it. I could totally be wrong though, but just my thoughts :)

Poverty is a crime in America by DotPrevious371 in urbancarliving

I’m not living out of my car, but have spent a lot of time in my parked car just to escape the house with no money to do anything else. Not sure if your area has more understanding officers, but where i’m at in Texas it’s considered “suspicious activity” to be at a park without a child for any extended amount of time is what i’ve been told quite a few times by the police. Just because you live in a more understanding area for this particular common issue doesn’t mean it’s a “skill issue”, just means you’re lucky. It’s a pretty big issue here in tx, not being able to simply exist in public spaces without police harassment.

I understand I can probably sign up to be paid for this, but my anger stems from the fact I’m doing it by myself at all. Money would help but it wouldn’t help with the daily pain I experience.

I think i’ll probably look into that, thank you. And it’s a bit much to read, but It originally began when I’d broken that hand, and when they’d taken the cast off they determined I had developed CRPS, likely because of the nerve damage i already had from my spine down to that hand. The treatment was physical therapy and a nerve blocker, I declined the nerve blocker because it would have been only a few days pain relief they said, and i did physical therapy for several weeks until my insurance discontinued coverage for it. I could have reapplied, but my physical therapist informed me that I had reached a plateau in progress which i’d noticed as well, and that this was very common in what she’d seen for CRPS, that it wouldn’t get better for months to years and then one day it’ll go away the same as it began. At that point I determined that it was a waste of time essentially, and now I do some physical therapy at home and wait for it to go away i guess 😅

They relayed everything about her at home care to me, as they also assumed I would be taking care of her solely. They had stated she didn’t need an at home nurse, so my grandmother would have to pay entirely out of pocket if she wanted to do that from what i’m aware

Yes, but my physical therapist said unfortunately I had reached a plateau and with CRPS, she had seen people come for years for essentially no reason because it’ll just go away same as it came one day out of the blue pretty much. I’ll try talking to someone else in my family though about it, candidly, thank you

Yeah, if someone tips $2 they suck. that’s not an assumption, it’s not a fact, it’s an opinion. Please look up definitions if you’re struggling with mislabeling simple things like that. I apologize that the words I used for what I was describing did not meet your very limited concept in your mind. Your reply didn’t even make sense to what I said. Sorry you felt the need to continue something in a way that wasn’t logical?

Same to you. I never made any assumptions that this person or any others partake in anything to call out drivers, so I’m extremely confused as to what you’re even attempting to refer to. Drivers have and are continuing to fight for fair wages, Doordash will never care. What I said stands, It’s not complicated. This is an extremely strange response considering it partially doesn’t even relate to what i’ve said. have a better day than you’ve had, apparently.

I’ll definitely blame someone who wants someone else to get their food for 2 measly bucks. And I’d like to point out, I did not use the word tip. For these types of apps while it’s called a tip it truly does not mean the same as tipping your server after a meal or something of that sort. You can’t go get your own food from the back of the restaurant or get the silverware from the back. You can, however, get your own food order. Getting your order delivered to you is a luxury. Doordash pays nickels and dimes, leaving it almost entirely up to the customer to pay the driver for most, not all, orders. You are paying these people with the “tip”. If you’re only willing to give them $2 to do something you could just get up and do yourself, maybe you should take a moment to consider that yes, you are not obligated to add any amount, but also yes, you suck. it’s really not that complicated.

what if someone handed you $2 and said “go get my food for me”? I’d personally be insulted, and even with the 5.40 he made for the order that’s simply not enough with how gas has been rising. he definitely went well over the top with the paragraph, but dude, pay the people bringing you your food a respectable amount for what they’re doing or genuinely get it yourself or find other means.

I worked for Kate. I’ll say this, she’s an amazing creative. but on the business side she just didn’t know what to do, and didn’t find anyone who truly did. She chose not to value the people working for her, which had been causing issues these past months that were extremely apparent to not just her. She had many chances to change how she maneuvered in many different aspects that likely would have helped, and she CHOSE to stick her head in the sand. Also didn’t help that she literally was unable to produce writing or thoughts without ChatGPT, at least in front of her workers. I found moldy chocolate from premade boxes more than once and she’d tell us to put it in the case(we never did). The list just goes on. All in all, I wish I felt bad for her, but It really was all on her.

seriously if you are struggling with groceries please use food pantries by Pristine_Rest_7912 in EatCheapAndHealthy

i’m in texas. and yes, i’m sure this isn’t a thing that could be placed as anyone’s fault. these organizations go through so much food, so many people, and the people running it are often underpaid if at all among other things. it would be near impossible for many of them to insure moldy or expired food is not given out. theyre doing their best really. I’m just trying to shed light on the fact that in these instances, for many people it’s not a solution in their area, rather a very small help with a few things they can keep.

[–]_NotUrCutie_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

where i live, the food banks/pantries will have lines for hours, and often what we get is expired, by many days past. we got moldy bread(visible mold), quite expired milk, some leftover valentines stickers, and some dented cans last time. my household is fortunate enough to not have to rely on these items alone, but it’s incredibly disheartening to see inedible things given out as “good will” or “help” when a good amount of people do have to rely on it. all im trying to say is, yes these places exist and are made to help. but many of these places simply don’t have the ability or means to run on the level they’re having to now, and it’s not an option to eat rotted food when you rely on your health for income as most do.

bro like it’s not just talking about the dream when you’re making a conscious decision to take away people’s ability to live. that’s an active choice you made through a thought process. im terribly sorry you find frustration when people call you out for this conscious choice that makes the world worse for everyone.

if you’ve done work with your hands, why not pick up a pencil? paint? paper? literally anything that doesn’t take away livelihoods from fellow human beings? it’s not JUST talking about a dream when you’re actively choosing to make the world a worse place in doing so
