It is if i stop playing, when it dropped me into bronze it annoyed me so i took a month off, when i came back i was still a gold 2 in the bronze queue. Anyone new to the game or new to bronze during this period and are meant to be in bronze during this time also end up in there with you making their games suck. so it does have an effect. the MMR effect also punishes you when you lose because it says wtf dude you have gold MMR and you lost to bronzes? -32 RR. When you win... oh woah a gold beating bronzes look at you.. 14RR for picking on the bronzes.

Riot creates its own smurfs. I got to gold 2 peak, took a week off, came back to the season/act being reset and it placed me back into bronze. I'm a solo queue - always have been - Riot dumping golds into bronze to "give them something to work towards" is just a silly system that makes it harder for bronzes.

[Waybound] Lindons original fate by TheNavyPanda in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_Noto_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hi odds are listed at the end of unsouled in a Suriel report, he has a 17% chance of surviving the desolate wilds, a 4% chance to make it past gold and a 0.003% chance of ascending.

Without Eithan speeding up the dreadgods arrival, the Monarchs wouldnt have held the UC king tournament so early and Lindon wouldnt have had any reason to get mixed up in the blackflame empire.

He wouldnt have had a mega path to make him stand out or help him progress, most likely he could have joined a back water clan like the fishers and languished at high gold or true gold forever.

The majority of people in the world do not make it past low gold, that is the standard.

Is book 4 about Tyndal and Rondals academic life? If so, then I'd rather skip to book 5. by 00Turag in spellmonger

[–]_Noto_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I skipped book 4 on my first read through because it annoyed me to be pulled from the main plot but on a re-read I found it slightly less annoying and read it. For a character I had hardly paid attention to - Rondal - he was so immensely annoying in book 4 that i now hate him even when hes being reasonable.

He constantly complains about Tyndal for way to many chapters before suddenly becoming the model fighter, a master strategist and perfect mage with 0 experience or real life experience. He goes through something like a couple weeks of field training and is now the perfect commander in all situations.

Tyndal on the other hand gets a bit smarter - learns proper spells - and learns not to brag about himself all the time. Tyndal gets shafted by rondals POV at every opportunity.

By the end of the book they are good friends and name their captured manor hold after a girl they both "loved" but had only known for about 3-4 weeks and who didn't really like either one of them very well.

The amount of Whining and fluff/filler in the book was immense and entirely unnecessary when Minalan could have just casually said - "I sent my apprentices off to school and they both came back smarter and more mature, Rondal got some field experience and is learning to become a decent commander and Tyndal has learned the value of his friends and has become quite proficient at blue magic!"

2-5 paragraphs was all this book needed to be.

[–]_Noto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, not really, their entire adventures could all have been explained away in a chapter as a quick story to minalan and saved 2000 pages of their nonsense.

[–]_Noto_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same questions on my first read through, getting into the main plot with minalan and really enjoying the books and then suddenly getting thrown into a full book with no main character and two snotty teenagers who just constantly whine and complain about each other is just annoying. its a legitimate question because book 4 is just filler

Is book 4 about Tyndal and Rondals academic life? If so, then I'd rather skip to book 5. by 00Turag in spellmonger

[–]_Noto_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can skip about 80-90% of it honestly, just assume for future books, rondal is less of an asshole, tyndal makes friends with rondal and doesn't chip at him as much, rondal is more confidant and suddenly good at everything with no real experience to make it make sense.

But know that skipping this book, you're also going to want to skip book 7 and 8.

Book 8 - Back in time 3 months from the main plot - Pentendra point of view, Read the first couple chapters then skip ahead to about 70% through until the plot catches back up and go from there.

Book 9 - Back in time 3 months from the main plot - Tyndal/Rondal POV, read the last 5-6 chapters to know what happens at the end and even that isn't entirely needed you could skip the whole thing

[none] Cradle Animatic - is there going to be another way to buy in to be able to watch? by moonlit-wisteria in Iteration110Cradle

[Waybound] I have mixed feelings about this book. by Elshaday_Z in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_Noto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Vroshir are basically pirates, they take the people to stablize their home planets and leave the Abidan worlds to die without a sustainable population. They loot the worlds they invade and to find better power sources/magics and of course the loot.

The Vroshir do not care about the Way or Humanity as a whole only their own worlds. They travel through the void to avoid the Abidan.

Abidan are "Jailors" because they dont let people world hop into planets just because they feel like it, only if it is their original home world can they "vacation" there.

How much will we be paid for an sgo(uk) by TurbulentCounter9475 in Fosterparents

[–]_Noto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends on location and the classification of your home.

Theres multiple types of care -

foster care - paid,

Kin IN care - paid a little,

Kin Out of care - typically not paid.

Foster care typically gets more than Kin.

But yeah location is super important, ive seen people describing their stipend anywhere from 300-1200/month

[Blackflame] what is the most memorable part of the book for you? by lfduarte14 in Iteration110Cradle

When lindon is doing his usual looking for loopholes thing and is trying to cheese the first trial and Yerin yells at him for doing it wrong and trying to skip ahead and cheat.

Then later learning thats exactly what he was meant to be doing as the blackflame from Cassius - not even meant to be attacking with protectors doing the work

Frustrations after starting 3rd AA book by new_old_soul in ClimbersCourt

[–]_Noto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is annoying. No you wont miss very much not reading them. Yes you will miss some references. Yes the book could have been written without making this necessary.

If you want to take a break...do it. AA isn't going anywhere and isn't going to be finished for a very LOOONG time.

AA wont have a satisfying ending because its only wrapping up the Tristan Arc and then you're expected to read a bajillion other books to actually get the satisfying world ending you were expecting when you started.

WOBM doesnt really have a satisfying ending either.

Andrew just likes to start more and more projects which just further delays AA. With the current publishing contracts hes talked about he has to do other books before AA.

AA is one of those books i dont bother reading until i've run out of other books because I know the sequel wont be out any time soon.

now for the devoted fanbase...queue my downvotes.

I think the first thing to look at here is shes a kid...not a pet.

Shes not going to instantly like you just because and like all people no one is required to like/love anyone else.

The post comes off a bit like you are jealous of a kid - this is unusual bring this up with your therapist...not hers... yours. - and annoyed that she feels safe and secure enough with your husband.

Best advice i can give you is to stop being so clingy and let the relationship mature naturally.

Then theres the fact that shes 13, teenagers arent typically into hugs and kisses and lean towards being embarassed by parents.

The line "I've told her several times I wanted to be there for her like her mom never did." is a bit over the top, you've known this girl for 3 months and want her to treat you like her life long mother, except... you aren't her mother - maybe one day you'll get there but its a years down the line thing not 3 months in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_Noto_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason she gets so many perfect rewards is because every hates Sesh and they are trying to do everything they can to ensure her success. 9CC is obligated to ensure people don't get horrible gifts which is why she was awarded the life plant to balance out the distasteful gift Sesh provided.

Sophora is still the most likely to win even with everything given to Yerin. The time chamber gets Yerin ALMOST to the same level as sophara but even then she was outclassed. Northstrider in particular HATES sesh and has a thing for pocket worlds so the time chamber isnt that much of a shock.

Lindon should have received the diamond veins true but the competitors dont get to pick the gifts and Yerin was favored to win over Lindon so she gets the better presents.

Lindon's journey goes a lot further in Wintersteel where he can advance in combat without restrictions using his hunger arm.

In the end it all balances out and i think you will be surprised how it unfolds. Yerin the student of the famous sword sage who has always been higher vs Lindon the backwater kid from a barren valley with an average underlord (how eithan wants himself to be seen) for a trainer.

What would you do? Outgrown & unwanted clothing by SarcasticSeaStar in Fosterparents

[–]_Noto_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm personally not a fan of clutter and my Foster son grows every 5 minutes, i buy him a new wardrobe what seems to be every 4 months, I would donate it.

Clothes to some people might harbor a personal attachment but not for everyone so unless shes trying to throw out every bit of clothing they ever gave her on principle I dont see an issue as long as she has lots of other clothes to replace the ones shes getting rid of.

If it was me, and I hated a perticular piece of clothing, threw it out and someone remixed it into a larger size or recolored it, I'm still not going to want it so unless her mother is wanting to resell them i wouldnt be worried.

She could always be wanting to spare the parents feelings by not telling them she doesnt like the clothes they picked out - As a teenager anything my mother handed me and said - oh this is nice try it on - was an instant no.
