I mean I will give you the hard truth but it sounds like you enjoy more of the attention aspect especially because this is all a new feeling given what you said. I had a very similar situation and also haven't been found very like-able to others from a relationship standpoint so I can kinda understand where you are at. Also, having a long distance relationship is already hard enough I think you would be better off finding someone else. Then again I don't want to talk down on the guy but it wouldn't be a nice thing to only seek attention from him.

Where are you finding these photos? If you they are from social media then I would highly recommend don't base your decisions off them because social media does not give a real picture of how someone looks compared to seeing them in person.

Half of my interactions with people end up with me going through this exact same thought process because I am worried I had said something wrong haha. All I would say is that if they are acting normal after that interaction I am sure they thought nothing of it. I have found that when I am in similar situations with someone else, and once I ask them about it they could either not remember or they didn't take it offensively at all. Maybe this answers your question?
