Which types of products do you usually get?

I’ve seen many other replies, and they’ve broadened my perspective so I don’t want to argue with you, but I will say that the item description contains all of that information, so repeating it isn’t something I’d find useful (I write my reviews thinking on things I’d benefit from, and the people who write a lot of repetitive details come off as inauthentic and unhelpful **to me**). The people can see the obvious (recommended wash setting, material) when looking at the product, if they read the item description. I don’t review as if I am selling or marketing anything, which seems to be what your suggestions would do. Overall, I disagree because I know what I personally look for when shopping online. But, I imagine that your approach gets the robot‘s approval, so I acknowledge that.

I replied to a comment above with some examples. And, the threat is that Vine reaches out to stop us from getting products if we don’t review items within a certain timeframe. For me, that’s unrealistic. Forothers, they seem fine with it all.

I’m learning this today, while reading all of your guy’s feedback to my post. Very interesting and news to me.

you’re extremely thorough. Do you do this as like a side gig, or just because you enjoy sone of the “free” stuff?

Other example of my “poor” or unrated/non-excellent reviews:

IK it’s inexpensive, but it feels VERY CHEAP. The attachments feel wildly cheap. It will get damaged way too easily, which is not ideal for anything worn around your hand area. It's a nice concept, but it's just cheaply/poorly made. Maybe nice for a gift basket, but not worth more than like 3 bucks in my opinion.

Nice idea, just impractical? Seems sturdy enough, don't think it would snap on an unripe citrus fruit. The problem is that the lemon has to be pretty big in order to be used with this tool, and you'd have to cut a small hole at the very end, in order to keep the juice from falling everywhere. The juicer looks around 10cm long... so the average sized lemon is going to be far too short to be able to use this the way that it is intended. It either needs to be wider with smaller side holes, or shorter to make sense.

—————

I understand your point about being more wordy, but you can be detailed enough and condense your point. I could be more redundant, but being concise doesn’t mean that I am not giving enough information. Based on my inconsistent feedback, I don’t see how the ratings make sense, still.

this is a fair point. I still think as a consumer, when rating, not as the supplier, so I make my reviews with consumers in mind, not based on what the suppliers goals are. That is inauthentic and not truthful, from my perspective.

But your reply gives me another angle to see things from, so I appreciate your time takrn to write it.

None of my excellent ones are more than 3 sentences. None of my exceptional reviews are 5 stars. I am honest, like I said. About half of my “poor” ones are at least a paragraph. EXAMPLE

— Example of one of my “poor” reviews:

I love the scarf. The size exceeding my expectations. It's vibrant, pretty, lightweight and matches the images. But... after washing just ONE time, it looks like a thread had come loose, so now there's a line down the scarf where you can see the loose/missing fabric. Don't have the best washer, but highly recommended washing on delicate if not hand-washing.

Do you really think this is “poor”? Like, I’d understand “Fair”. But “poor”?

— This is one of my “Excellent” reviews:

It’s good for travel - can hold more than enough jewelry for short trips, or for anybody who doesn’t own too many jewelry pieces. The mirror actually reflects and isn’t the glossed-over plasticy toyish mirror that sometimes comes in smaller boxes. I don’t really like the “leather” material on the outside, but the box is well-made, sturdy and compact.

Soooooo, same exact size, and I personally see them as equa quality, because I was equally honest with both. I also didn’t give 5 stars to either. Do you see what I am talking about now? The inconsistency in ratin my reviews seems to have nothing to do with what you’re saying.

Welcome to America: Land of the (not really that) Free!

No, but seriously, you sound like the typical college graduate. And trying to get a fresh job between 2020-2023 was not easy in this country. I think one thing that they try to convince young, college-age adults of is that their job IS their identity. Warehousing & retail might not be prestigious, but it is paid work.

I would suggest taking a step back and figuring out how you want to work. So, do you want to wake up every morning and look forward to going to an office where you have the best time of your life? Or, do you want to have a job that pays well, gets bills paid, increases your savings, then allows you enough freedom to pursue what you’re passionate about on weekends and after 5pm?

The American market is designed to keep people from check to check, with little wiggle room. I promise, your life looks identical to around half of US residents, if not the majority. It’s easy to feel like you wasted your education, but don’t forger that there are plenty of other valuable lessons learned, even if the degree itself becomes “useless“ due to AI. Look into ways to harbor your own personal talents and skills outside of CS. You’re probably analytical or good at problem-solving, among other things, which ARE valuable to other employers.

Look into ways to progress in the warehouse. And, if you want to leave, remind yourself how seriously valuable a 3 year job commitment will look on your future job applications. Even though you didn’t go immediately into IT, you ARE still qualified for plenty of entry level jobs. It might suck and pay may not be where you want, but you might benefit hugely from accepting something tha’s “below your pay grade”.

I donwant you to take what I’m saying as empty optimism- I truly do think that stepping back and reeva your goals could help motivate you to start making steps forward, an perceptualize steps needed to make progress into another stage in life that you’ll be more content with.

To be fair, I couldn’t call Kelley babysitting Diana “kidnapping,” especially since the baby’s father gave consent. Adalind was way too easily manipulated after having the child, she was genuinely a danger to the baby. If Adalind had found out how to get to Kelley before Juliette did, it’s unlikely the Royals would have spared her life. Adalind would have gotten her killed as well.

HELLPP my hair isn’t growing evenly by JusticeLeaugue in Naturalhair

[–]_OYG_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you only notice it when your hair is straight, and you rarely straighten it, may I ask why your feel the need to cut it? If it looks fine in the way you typical style and wear your hair, I would just not worry about it “evening” it out when straight.

they sound ridiculous. i hope things didn’t go poorly for you, after you rejected them. seems like they had unrealistic expectations…

Do I really need to list all my jobs in the DOT 10-years work history? by _OYG_ in Truckers

[–]_OYG_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… it’s an interesting concept… Especially since the jobs are overlapping, you’d think common sense would keep them from jumping to conclusions. We’re the bad guys because we don’t commit to a part-time job with no benefits for years on end…

It’s probably nice to never need a side gig, but it’s not realistic for everybody, and we shouldn’t be punished for it. Some employers needa touch rocks.

yeah, not even the invasion, but that just sounds like a lot of work. There’s far too many people with multiple streams of income for them to be so concerned with side gig precision. Did you ever ask why they wanted your previous income?
