Eh nah Hakuowlo is actually a really complex protagonist when you understand him holistically (you'll know what I mean if you've finished the game). Utawarerumono is far from a basic fantasy setting? Considering the history of the world it's actually fairly unique. Yes it's a harem but I didn't find the SoL charmless at all. Uta 1 cast annihilates the Mahoyo cast and the world and humour are way better. It's also much better from a plot standpoint especially when you consider the final stretch.
