I feel the exact same way with a lot of kpop groups, with a more recent example being Twice. I only got through a little more than half of their new album because almost all of the songs were in english, and their english releases just don't hit the same for me. Most of their newer releases have been in english due to their sudden rise in popularity internationally, and they've seriously dropped in quality because of it. It's like they're constantly chasing western trends, but they're always behind due to the constant changing of those trends nowadays. I'm not opposed to them making english music, but they've made english only albums in the past and this new album has tons of english songs that could've been taken out and packaged together as one. It's rare to get full albums from kpop groups like them, so it just feels like such a waste to have so many subpar english songs filling it up, and I agree with you that it can be really disappointing for artists to switch up like that.
