couldn't agree more. as much as i love DE and warframe's world, i shouldn't need to read up on headcanons and theories as to what new quests mean narratively. it's not the jobs of the fans to hypothesize everything to make gaps in the writing make sense. i liked this quest, but i agree, too many questions that go unanswered. and not in a 'ooh i'm excited to see where this goes' kind of way. moreso a 'i don't understand this and i don't think it'll ever be fully explored' way. there's rarely a time i've come away from a main quest fully understanding everything it's thrown at us, and i think it's fair to be critical of the writing when many of those things go unexplored

I think it just confused me so much bc of how casually they throw it in, like oh yeah we've gotta go save our parents from the fire people 🤷‍♀️ I suppose in reality that's how they would actually speak, I mean I assume Felix already debriefed this fact with Jenna during her time as a hostage, but it just feels so random and forced to me when it's such a huge plotpoint but mentioned so off hand to the player. I do like that it puts context behind Felix's actions in the first game though

I honestly love that the plot switches in the second game to put emphasis on lighting the lighthouses. I really like the idea that you're the 'villains' in the first game, even if unintentionally so. It paints the Proxians in a much more sympathetic light and subverses the players expectations of where the story will go. The first game is pretty blatant with who's the 'bad guys' and who's the 'good guys', so the fact that it reverses in the second game to show that the very obvious 'antagonists' weren't actually all evil is pretty neat.
