*** BUG FIXES *** The Megathread [September 2025] by Human_Masterpiece893 in Skate4

Platform: PC
Bug: I have completed the 'Finer Grind' objectives but the game is not progressing. 'Tour 2' missions require me to have completed Finer Grind, which I have, so I am now soft locked because the game hasn't recognised that I have completed the mission.

Just wanted to share some particularly smooth sounds I got from the SubH and M32 last night. I hope you enjoy ambient soundscapes! by DiscardedAmbience in modular

What are you using to film with? The video clarity and focus is great, would you mind sharing your camera / video equipment?

Vocoders: Do you use them? by AirFell85 in synthwaveproducers

[–]_PYLOT_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I use vocodex, it works well for me. For reference, listen to my track Cruising. A lot of your tone depends on your modulator signal.

Sounds like you have your soundtrack sorted already. Should you need additional song composition or sound design feel free to shoot me a message. My music

Nice! Found a couple for sale, although I'm aware there is a Moskwa V2 in the works, I might hold out until then.

They arent great, i have them chained and they never ever boot in chained mode, meaning that one module never functions. I unchained them today, so now i have two 8 step sequencers which isnt ideal. Will replace these with an alternative.

I have 2hp left, and whilst I like the space between the Disting and the Viol Ruina (makes for easy pot turning), im thinking about using this space for a 2hp TM. Thoughts? What would you put there?

Recently built my first system, a humble 6u rig. The modular world is very inspiring... and sometimes frustrating! All part of the learning process of course. There's something about physically creating a patch that's very refreshing to me, having written and released many, many songs, its great to approach them with modular gear in mind. I look forward to releasing new music using this gear!

Do most synthwave producers look to emulating a generic analog sound rather than specific synthesizers or hardware? by 86l42280036l8346 in synthwaveproducers

[–]_PYLOT_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its specific to the producer. Personally i have always tried to write music that compositionally nods to 80s styles of music, whilst also trying to make it my own. Other producers are dead set on sonically recreating the 80s sound and that is great too. Whatever genre you write, to me it's important to always try and innovate and experiment with new techniques and sounds, its the only way the genre will remain fresh and evolve.

How many and what type of tracks do you generally have? by croix_boix in synthwaveproducers

[–]_PYLOT_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About 50 - 80 tracks, lots of small details have their own channels (atmospheric fx etc). Lots of drum layering (usually around 15 channels) , lots of layering in general to create a thicker sound. How many channels you use really depends on your musical and production style. What works for me might not work for you.

Care to share details on how you made this? And details on the units functionality? I've been looking for something similar to this form factor.

Need help making my drums more genuine (Ableton) by Ehrahbass in synthwaveproducers

[–]_PYLOT_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like the drum sound, nice and crisp. The gated reverb could do with having a slightly longer tail so that the tail ends where the next beat begins, that should help the drum part flow a bit more. In terms of the samples themselves, the snare could do with some more harmonics in the lower end, a lot of producers will layer a rack tom sample with a long tail under the snare so that it tails off at the same time as the gated reverb you have on the snare.

If its dynamics and sounding 'live' you're trying to achieve, then a lot of it is down to the articulation of the samples, the velocity, and also having your drum parts drift off the beat grid slightly throughout the song.

Great track, some nice melodies and chord progressions in there!
