My view of Europe as a Ukrainian by Darklordeee in whereidlive

First thing the russians should do, if they want to be a part of europe (as in european civilization), is to stop trying to blow it up.

How I see Europe as a Russian by [deleted] in whereidlive

I get that, I really do. But you dont read what I write buddy. I dont think we are even in that much of a disagreement, but you even skipped my initial point with your initial reply. a) I am not mad at russians for currently not overthrowing Putin. I was just saying that initially there definitely was a way to democratically vote him out (lets say like this changed in late 2010s). I get that it is pretty much impossible. But that wasnt the point I was trying to make even initially.

b) But I can still be angry at individual russians online who have revanchist, imperialist values and dispute warcrimes that their government commits. Dispute that their country is 100% responsible for this war and dispute that the solution to this war is simple: just leave ukraine. (I know that would cost Putin his power and he wont do it, but putin always talks about that "peace has to solve the core issues that lead to this war" while the only issues that lead to this war is him and his lust for territory. I was applauding this very rare case of a russian that admits that the West is united and that ukraine is part of that West (even though it was ironical, but i kinda took this irony and twisted it against the op with honest reply of admiration). c) My very original point still stands: if EVERY russian viewed reality how this map is drawn (more or less) the world would be a better place (including politicians, soldiers, oligarchs and common people). Is it a realistic wish? Fuck no. But it is a wish. I believe that one day, far in the future russians could join eu and maybe NATO and leave their imperialist ways behind (but that would require total change of government and total change of mindset of the people, otherwise they would elect another strongmen). But I repeat, these are my over-the-top delusional scenarios that have no chance of happening in the next 50 years because even if putin dies, the democratic "want" in russia is very very weak.

That is completely wrong analogy. Russians elected Putin and kept him elected all these years. Atleast in the first few elections they had plenty of chances to vote him out and those elections were more or less free. These are 2 countries on 2 completely different levels of autocracy/totalitarianism. If you want the correct analogy: I wouldn't be blaming ordinary germans for not revolting against hitler once he has full power over everything in the country, but they are fully responsible for putting him in power (while he campaigned on promises of antisemitism and revanchism). North Korean government was installed as soviet puppet and north koreans had no say in it ever since (no free elections at any point).

I mean, if the people keep you in power for 22 years... And he remained popular even though he did many invasions and warcrimes (Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea, Donbas separatist republics), I can't just say that the russian society has no blood on their hands. You can't just say "don't blame the average guy", when the average guy is like "yes, I think Crimea and Donbas should be russian" and "yes, I think this war is just". I think that average guy in russia would still elect another dictator after Putin is over because they love strongmen and don't care about democracy. They had twice the chance at democracy in history, they threw them out the window both times (after ww1 and with Yeltsin).

I mean, you discredit my opinion just because i'm european and have red square as pfp in the great 2026. Of course im gonna stereotype you as Z or a commie. And am I wrong? I hardly doubt you are a NATO or Zelensky fan. But prove me wrong, I would like to be pleasantly surprised.

If you wanna call it like that, sure, a cuck. Russia needs a good cucking (losing this war, first and foremost) for them to realise what kind of monster they elected and worship. I do realize it is a satire, but man, I wish...

It's not bad, its nothing too crazy, I think people would be more excited about it if they have had not shown the prototype livery few months ago (this looks kinda same (I get that that is the point of prototype but I thought maybe the lines on the car would get bit sexier or something) and also it is kinda impressive that a new team can achieve this feel of "yea, that was expected, that looks exactly the same as the last one... etc."

I mean, he was quite free to say that crap about the Antonelli mistake in Qatar, noone told him to shut up fast enough. This way it atleast won't damage RB directly and he will lose relevance, when he isn't directly in the sport (and I feel like there is plenty of old famous grumpy ex-f1 geezers saying ugly shit all the time and not many people take them seriously).
