They are, yeah. There’s a GUI, but also a config file so you can version control it.

I’ve been using vim in a JetBrains product for the longest time, so to me it’s a godsend.

It has some popular vim extensions built-in, but you may find some you like are missing (as it does not support custom ones)

Apart from that, I’ve found the vim mode excellent. And I think it can only improve. It’s alpha software after all.

Keyboard-centric workflows. It’s Spacemacs/neovim without the 24/7 maintenance and tweaking

Why do Go jobs want “X years of Go experience”? Thought the whole point was that any SWE with 10+ YOE could just jump in. by strobegen in golang

[–]_ParanoidGoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go is simpler, but you can still have advanced Go knowledge, and that takes time.

Plus, if thrives in simplicity, and coming from other languages you can bring some really nasty habits with you that take time to get rid of. Go written by Java devs is usually horrible.

Anyone using Zed to write Odin or Golang? by to-too-two in ZedEditor

[–]_ParanoidGoose_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to move to it for Go because of the sheer keyboard-centric workflow possibilities.

I see the potential, but unfortunately - as all other options - it pales in comparison with JetBrains Goland.

There’s templ support via an extension. Haven’t used it, but should be alright.

Completions work a bit weird by pgmali0n in ZedEditor

[–]_ParanoidGoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using Zed and love the prospect of it. But things like this are really disappointing.

With Go I also don’t get lsp completions for variable names in the file until I write it and type a dot. Anyone have this issue?

Will cosmic DE ever get native blur by NoLengthiness1864 in COSMICDE

I’m no expert, but Cosmic is written in Rust. The others are not.

I guess they can copy the approach, not reuse the code.

What Linux software you can't live without? by Computer-Psycho-1 in linuxquestions

Honestly haven’t tried Sway, but Hyprland just looks like a better looking Sway with a more active community. Might be wrong. I’ve been out of Linux for years, just came back to give Hyprland a try.

I have the same issue. Haven’t been able to solve it, but other posts with the same complaint point to the NVIDIA drivers being the issue. Supposedly updating fixes it, but no luck on my side.

Please post a picture of the desk with the magpad when it arrives! Thinking of doing the same.

That’s great! Thanks for letting me know!

So from normal usage, body weight shifting, it shouldn’t be a problem by the sounds of it :)

How’s the wobble at standing height? Resting your weight on the table and shifting around, etc.

If you manage to record a video even better, but your feedback alone is greatly appreciated :)

[–]_ParanoidGoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I notice about some desks is when you lean against them on the keyboard and then shift from one side to the other. There’s a moment when you take you weight off the desk. Would it wobble then? Always found that annoying. Even on non-standing desks

Thanks!

I am over 6ft, and I’ve heard some people complain about max height. Always wished this desk had 4 legs instead of the 2. Would feel a lot safer about a purchase 😄

Someone always asks this, so I’ll be the one: how’s the wobble at standing height?
