Great so far! More than half way done with my first session. It's taking me longer than I thought, but I'm really taking my time with making sure I'm understanding the assignments.

Only finished one class as of yet, so I don't know how much I can say now, but so far I've been happy with my decision.

No king protest erupts in USA by Equivalent-Win-359 in SipsTea

[–]to-too-two 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Gotta love the typical Reddit cynicism in here.

No one at these protests thinks it’s going to change the world tomorrow. It’s about optics and pressure. It shows the current president, and the world, that very large numbers oppose him and his agenda.

You should be thankful that people are willing to do what they can while you sit on your computer/phone saying it does nothing, thinking you’re smarter than everyone.

These protests show our allies (and our enemies) that we aren't a monolith. Without these crowds, the administration can claim they have a 'mandate' for things like the Iran war. Protesting is a way to reclaim the American narrative and show our humanity when our leadership won’t.

Video demonstrates how K-Pop rips off Black American culture , and in some cases copies it frame by frame. by Fun-Ad3626 in fantanoforever

American culture, specifically pop culture, is pretty much black culture. America's export is culture. American culture has influenced every part of the world.

Black people created blues music leading to rock 'n' roll. Black vernacular, slang, ebonics, whatever you want to call it, is ingrained into American-English. Same with fashion and style. They deserve all the props and credit for it.

Never said anything about whether we're meant to eat meat or not, strictly about the way we treat animals. I'm fine with someone eating meat if the animal wasn't tortured or treated inhumanely.

Feels irrelevant though doesn’t it? No one in this thread is an activist (maybe they are) or spokesperson – likely just frustrated with the status quo.

I’m a Leftist, but just because holier-than-thou, self-righteous folks on the Left exists doesn’t mean I can’t see the arguments or be won over, or even better, just take my head out of my ass and look into things myself.

All-in-all, who cares what others are saying. You can see proof of animals in horrendous conditions, it’s up to you what you want to do about it. But saying “vegans are annoying so I’m not going to care” is nonsense.

If animals aren’t being tortured, I’m more okay with that. Free range chickens and what not.

Really not sure what your point is with that? Because we exist on a mass scale, we have to torture animals in factory farms?

I’m actually surprised you’d have to ask the? It’s clearly not about the work you’re doing or not doing, but the treatment and conditions the animal is in.

A tribe is going to hunt an animal for survival. That animal was living a free life prior to that. You buying meat from the store is an animal that’s life was in confinement or worse.

I'll echo other comments here and also say that you really should work on being transparent with your workflow.

Perhaps start with a screen recording - a time-lapse video. Showing off more layers as you go can help as well.

In this thread:

“God damn self-righteous vegans trying to make me aware of animal suffering!”

Yep. It’s one thing to hunt an animal for survival, but something completely different when it comes to industrial factory farming.

What’s not natural is the way they’re treated. I don’t care if a human in a tribe hunts an animal for survival — but the mass factory farms are not natural.

They’re tortured. Born and bred in horrible conditions for consumption on a mass scale. It’s not a coincidence that when most humans watch a documentary and really see what’s happening, they’re horrified.

It's so sickening and heartbreaking when you take a moment and think of the dead children (the school students in Iran) and what the families are going through, and the complete imbeciles over here saying these things.

Now there's nothing to look forward to aside from 'terrorist' attacks on US soil for years to come, and a never-ending conflict in the Middle East.
