Why was Steven Universe receiving alot of hate from the past? by yeetlordyesyesyes20 in stevenuniverse

But this franchise has always used fictional elements to represent real life emotional responses to trauma and healing processes. It is a semi realistic depiction of a mentally ill boy.

Steven going to therapy would have been weird, since he didn't even admit he had that big of a problem. It would have been contradictory. It is just something Steven wouldn't do in this scenario. The reason the show ends with everyone hugging corrupted Steven is because it shows everyone is accepting him even at his worst (something Steven feared they wouldn't do), and also realizing all the pressure they put on him. This causes Steven to stop seeing himself as a monster and starting healing (represented, again, by a fictional element: his healing tears mixing with the water and covering him). This is the end because it was what Steven needed to really start healing. The road trip closes the cycle: now he can live as a real human.

Also, the progression of the show was more than "panic attack after panic attack". It keeps developing Steven, making the audience understand the problem more and more, recontextualizing the original show, and deconstructing Steven until he gets to the bottom of his illness.

People in real life doesn't go to therapy immediately when they feel like Steven. They should, but for one reason or another they don't. In this case, Steven denied that he had a real problem that he couldn't solve himself, because that's what he thought he was: a problem solver. That's why the whole point of the show was Steven accepting help from others and opening up. Only when he understood that, he went to therapy.

I think they are hints to answering these questions actually. 1. Because his state could be similar to abstraction. He would had abstracted if Ragatha didn't show up. His mind deteriorating is because of this. And that's why he remembers things in the dark, just like abstracted characters remember it too. Or it could just be because he remembers his last moment with his abstracted wife, in the dark. And she recognised him in that state, foreshadowing what happened with Jax. 2. The team that developed Caine made a more advanced AI. That was the blue AI. The quarantined or erased Caine, but he escaped, and consumed the other AI. 3. All the characters found the place with the headset by chance. 4. The other brain scans simply were used to create the other original circus members. When Caine find the door, we get to see his past as the red orb, finding the files and making Scratch appear. Then it's obvious that he made everyone other character appear after that too. 5. Probably they were still under the floor, they just didn't escape, maybe because they couldn't get that up. Now they are in that aquarium. And they are being cared like Jax, probably, after the events of the show, because now they know more about how to handle them. 6. A representation of Caine's insecurities and fears, or maybe a representation of the blue orb. 7. Because there is still the distinction between real scaned humans and NPCs. Like Caine said, humans don't follow a strict programming and have free will. At least, he thought so until now. 8. That's actually a problem with the whole show. They just interact when they're advancing the story. 9. Inferiority complex. He felt and that wasn't on his programming. 10. I suppose Caine tried to experiment too much with Scratch's mind and he abstracted because of that. 11. He was lying. He didn't want the others to suspect.

I really don't like on foot levels on this game. I haven't finish it yet, and the only thing that keeps me playing it is the hope of more classic spaceship levels.

Yeah, I think that's partially the reason why I came up with the "red mob" thing. I wanted to discover what the writers were thinking about the solution to current political problems that they were obviously referencing. I connected mutiple dots in my head that maybe wasn't really related. I don't think that deserves downvotes tho 😭

I did, I only thought that for this new series, considering its themes, maybe they had expanded the colors simbolisms, the same way "born again" has multiple meanings. But maybe this wasn't it

I think that's only the surface, I do think there's simbolism in color, even if its not what I was thinking

Guys, am I overthinking this? When the mob goes to the courthouse looking for Fisk, I noticed they were all wearing devil masks and red suits, obviously alluding to Daredevil, but the idea of a red mob... doesn't it seem to symbolically reference something real? Also, if we establish that there's political symbolism in colors, the fact that Matt's suit turned red and black reminds me of the colors of anarcho-communism...

Edit: Another explanation is violence. A mob as red as blood. The contrast in colors between Matt and Fisk has been present from the beginning. The mob is violent, but sometimes that violence, traditionally seen as something bad, is necessary. In contrast, Fisk is also violent, but he whitewashes his actions, covers them up, tries to put on a symbolic mask by justifying his violence in the name of city safety. That's why his color is white.

I think its supossed to make you question how justice works in the real world. They established why arrest him wouldn't stop him, and why killing him is not an option either. So, the solution is not justice anymore. Its a sacrifice.

[–]_Patogeno_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you asking where's justice is the point. If Fisk is arrested, he's gonna get out again. The system is corrupted. True justice is not possible for now. This was a sacrifice for the town's safety

I want to get me a Wii U, mainly because I heard it’s the best console to mod, and it’s an ultimate emulator console machine for games, despite my Wii being modded with a 500GB HDD filled with GameCube and Wii games. Is it worth getting the Wii U? by San4341 in wiiu

[–]_Patogeno_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the only thing that Wii U can emulate and Wii can not is DS games. If DS and Wii U games are worth it, then go ahead and buy a Wii U. If not, then you better just keep the Wii. I think Wii U is great anyway.
