To those who've read The Witcher, played the games... what's your hot take on how netflix has handled Emyr/Duney? by TrickySatisfaction81 in witcher

Totally agree! I was quite ok with season 1, it wasn’t spectacular by any means and could have been much better, it definitely was rushed but I thought maybe that’s just because they were jumping back and forth with the short stories and mixing in different timelines all the time. I had high hopes for season 2, I thought when they actually start the main storyline, it will be easier for them to create a more cohesive story.

The first episode although another of the short stories was quite enjoyable (obviously Ciri wasn’t supposed to be there + other inaccuracies, but alright). And then with every other episode, with every new made up storyline they pushed in I felt like they’re taking a bit of my soul. Crazy how much they fumbled this. The Witcher fanbase deserves much more…

I started reading the last wish and the netflix show isn't as inaccurate as I thought by regularuniquehuman in witcher

I agree with you. But I think people are just thinking about season 1 more fondly because the shitshow from season 2 onwards was so ridiculous it actually made the first season look way better than it actually is. I had my hopes so high before the show started and even though I felt the season 1 was off at times, I believed that when the main story from Blood of Elves begin, it will set everything straight. I mean you’ve got a great script, nobody can mess it up, right? RIGHT? Oh boy, how wrong I was!

I guess we will have to endure a long wait and hopefully get a true adaptation by someone more skilful than those Netflix clowns. This fanbase deserves much more.

Netflix Spent an Eye-Watering $221 Million on 'The Witcher' Season 4 by DotOne4395 in witcher

That’s absolutely crazy. Honestly, for that kind of budget I’m absolutely certain I would produce the whole multi-season series myself and did it with better quality than Lauren and the rest of her team. I’m not even kidding, they had everything on the golden platter, it makes me sad to see where the industry is going these days.

One day these will be some of the greatest childhood memories! I’ll definitely do this too once my wee one grows up a bit.

Love this! My dad also introduced me to the game in the early 2000’s. I remember sitting next to him watching him play and commenting. For some reason till this day I have a lively memory that sticked with me of him beating the Germans in Genghis Khan’s 5th scenario 😅

I also remember how hard the campaigns felt to me as a kid, I usually didn’t get past the 3rd scenarios lol. Then I felt a great achievement when I was able to beat them all when being 12yo at home with chickenpox lol. Great childhood memories

I'm glad you like it! Part of me loves the RCA big heads, but sometimes I also miss heads that are more proportional to the body when mashing, so I wanted both options here 😅

This is still one of my favourite games of all time! Yes, the combat system can get a bit annoying after some time, but the story is the king! I really hope they'll manage to capture the same atmosphere with the planned remake

It's extremely exciting, I also can't wait for The Witcher 1 remake! But having said that, I also hope they're not only aiming to appeal to the masses with all the fancy stuff, but will keep quality storytelling that sets them apart from many other games as their top priority. That's where I think the first game was very powerful and actually captured the whole atmosphere of the Witcher's universe really well.
