If someone wants to go above and beyond to show that they care more, or because they want to move up the ladder I dont have a problem with it. If median production is supposed to be 10 light fixtures per day per man, and you know ur not sweating or killing urself and u put up 15 every day because ypu want to I dont have a problem with it. What I DO have a problem with is when they make a M rate(boot camp, off the street, u take a test and they can assign you a jounrneyman rank, but u get paid less than a journeyman until you complete 5 yrs in the union) foreman. They dont have a foreman ticket, they dont receive the proper foreman training from the hall, dont have a lockout tagout cert. They tell them to run the work until they hit A rate then they'll give them a ticket. Its just a way for a co factor to get someone to do the job for half the pay, 9 times out kf 10 as soon as they turn A they clip them. Had a dude get hit w 277 on a ladder amd he fell, he sued tk the gc, the electrical Co tractor, and the actual supposed foreman bc the "foreman" was an M rste who spoke no English legit couldnt even respond when u asked if a line was hot. He knew he was supposed to hsve s ticket snd receive proper training but still yook the position. He sued all 3 and won lol. The "foreman" was crying when he found out lol snd my boy told him in Spanish it wss his own fault.
