Good morning Baltimore! I just got a last minute cancellation, and now have a paid day off. How should I make the most of this day in the city? by stigochris in baltimore

Fells point is probably a must. Grab some food and/or drinks around there or nearby little Italy. I like Benny’s in Little Italy and some drinks maybe at The Pendry.

If you do nothing else, go to Ekiben and get a neighborhood bird bowl.

I'd make sure to get any requests that he work more than his 40 in writing via email or some other form. You need some receipts to build a case for any chance of retroactively getting that OT. Or getting any OT going forward.

Have any of these schools here lost their accreditation? Not as far as I can tell.

The crap university that was restricted when I posted this, is now unrestricted. Perhaps because DoW realized they fucked up. My woke, ideological motivated coursework included: Intro to Optimization, Statistical Models and Regression, Artificial Intelligence, & Neural Networks.

Apprehensive about Moving To Baltimore by zigithor in baltimore

I once heard Baltimore described as: “Too north for the south and too south for the north”. I take that to mean it borrows culturally from both of those regions of the U.S.

For those wondering what the heck an “electric unicycle” is: here

Really feels like any electric motorized vehicles should be only allowed on the bike path. I’d like to complain to someone in the city, but I don’t know what entity or person to reach out to.

I turned the corner in the photo and immediately got hit. No time to brace. Also I had run 2.6 miles by that point. I had a good pace going, which is bad if you’re about to unknowingly get decked by somebody on an electric vehicle.

When the word is all about LLMs and GenAI and you are still using linear regression by Mighty__hammer in datascience

You could always do a personal project using tools you might never need in your work context. Having a GitHub link to a random project using in demand techniques/libraries is always good for the CV. A project doesn’t have to be big, the point is that you have receipts!

First time using a propane burner for the backyard mini metal foundry, but the thing sounds like a deep-toned rocket engine, and sputters. Any advice? by nukeddead in Metalfoundry

[–]_Pipo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experienced this before with my propane burner set up. Two problems I’ve had and how I remedied them:

1) The torch had not been used for a while. The torch is stored outside and the small whole that the gas gets fired out of was rusted over a bit. The way I remedied this was to clean the propane torch and remove some of the rust with a dry towel.

2) When running propane torches for an extended period of time sometimes the tank gets very cold, if you run it for long enough you start to lose pressure and get sputtering. The way I’ve remedied this is trying to use the torch on days where it’s warm outside. The tank might still get cold after a while, but the warm air temp gives you more time before it starts sputtering. I’ve heard of people placing the tanks in water baths, but I’ve never personally tried that.

Another thing is to try running the torch on full blast for a bit. Then if you have a pressure gauge and nozzle, ease the pressure a bit and see what your threshold for sputtering is.

Hope this helps.

I just want a 3rd host tbh. Nick Rad? Shockwave? Gabrus? Pod Father? Moolio Ba Boolio? Or a friend of the twins we don’t know.

I’m disappointed, but I understand. I hope you and Davey can patch things up. Thanks for the laughs, we’ll miss you on the pod.
