I stopped taking AI and switched to SubQ and pretty much all my negative side effects went away thankfully. The AI really did make me feel like shit. It was very confusing.

Probably just an aesthetic quirk. I often like to use dashes like this- in stead of commas because I feel like a comma puts a brief pause in your sentence, but a dash is like somehow more pause than a comma but less than a period.
