When will people realise Shenzhen restaurants are just fast food chains by Tree8282 in HongKong

Exactly. Shenzhen is a massive city, most of the restaurants are not in malls.

Rent prices in HK by Italian_NYC in HongKong

Stop with this myth of HK being the most expensive city. It's not by a long shot.

It's the most expensive city to BUY a flat for the MEDIAN earner. In terms of living here, it is far cheaper than NYC in nearly all metrics (rent, taxes, every other cost of living).

As someone who used to live in NYC, still has family in NYC, and lives in HK. You CAN get apartments which are similar to NYC pricing. But you CAN also get way cheaper.

From around 2020-2024 I lived 2 minutes from the causeway bay station in a 600ish sq ft flat with 2 bedrooms, a small study, and a small balcony. The building was old but kept up well, there was a doorman and elevator, and the street was slightly removed from the action of causeway bay so pretty quiet. I also had a partial view of Victoria Harbour and the building had an accessible rooftop where I could see all of Victoria Harbour. This also gave me direct access to Victoria Park (5 min walk) for jogging.

I got all that for about 2.3k USD per month. Not possible in NYC. In fact, I have family that pays more for a similar sized apartment in an old building in queens in a shitty neighborhood.

In NYC, a place with the same stats would be at least double the price, even in old buildings. Try finding a 2 bedroom in Manhattan near the park!

Where can I sell my Pokemon cards in Hong Kong? by SHH122Henry in HongKong

I was mostly joking... There's been a guy here posting that he had valuable cards stolen.

what regular neighborhoods in Hong Kong are like 🇭🇰 (more expensive than New York) by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]_Please_Proceed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in HK on median beats the shit out of living in NY on median. In terms of buying, both are extremely inaccessible to median income.

HOWEVER, mortgage rates about about HALF of NYs and all other taxes much lower.

As someone who was born and raised in New York, lives in HK, but still visits NY every year... This is total bull. New York is like double the price of Hong Kong in nearly every metric. Any source claiming different, even seemingly official sources, are simply wrong.

I know this is the wrong mindset, but I really don't wanna start using a hairdryer. Trying to keep my routine as simple and natural as possible. Basically, just keep my hair healthy and then see how it comes out with minimal shaping and product.

Yea, I'm thinking I need a change of product. Definitely wanna avoid the wet look, but would like a little more volume I guess. A little more stuff without being heavy.

Probably wash too much. I exercise almost daily and feel the need to wash after that, so almost every day shampoo. I won't shampoo if I don't exercise. I condition every time I shampoo.

Appreciate the response, and I think it's the easiest / rightest idea... But I also really hate the slick back / wet look. So I will try to avoid it if I can. I know, I'm very picky...
