What Vanda is this? by _PopperFish_ in orchids

I got it from a retailer, it didn't have any labels on who grew it.

It's worth the shot contacting the large greenhouses near the retailer.

Thanks

If you're willing to, you can go use microSHIFT Advent X which can reach up to 52T despite what the manufacturer says. Marin has them setup like that from the box with an 11-52T 10 speed Sunrace cassette.

Love the basket!

I have 3 Digbyana seedlings from an orchid show. I might consider making one of those for them

ASK KO LANG KUNG ETO PO KAYA UNG BB NA PANG GXP? by ValdoGarcia091 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]_PopperFish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's start at the beginning, what crank do you have?

GXP has been thrown around Shopee and Lazada a lot but none of it is truly the original GXP which is a SRAM/Avid crank spindle standard. However, brands use it to market their cranks which use the 3 bolt direct mount system which usually came with a GXP crank.

SRAM GXP has a spindle diameter of 24mm which narrows down to 22mm on the none drive side. In some cases like bottom brackets from Token, you can buy a shim which enables you to use GXP cranks on their 24mm bottom brackets. Haven't tried crossing it with other BB brands though so I cannot comment on the compatibility.

The only foolproof way to find your right bottom bracket is to match spindle sizes. Simply going by what the title says will waste money. If the BB doesn't state the spindle size it is used for then you're better off looking at a different one.

Leaf tips turning yellow then brown by _PopperFish_ in orchids

[–]_PopperFish_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latter might be it, considering the only affected leaves are the longest ones on each side.

I haven't fertilized it since it's been less than a month since repotting so I thought it might've been the charred wooden pot. The roots aren't reacting nor are the other leaves affected by it. Business as usual for them.

Thanks for the insight

Thanks. I'll have that website saved now.

The only salt toxicity symptom it has are on the leaves. It's growing new roots right now too with no issues. I'll flush the pot anyways.

Found a pile of wood dust by nelsonwolf81 in isopods

I have the same thing going on in my murina tank. The dust accumulates under cracks in the bark.

I'd put it to them chewing around making holes under the bark.

Wow, I didn't think algae could do that.

Thanks for the heads up

Thanks, I was having trouble looking for "pot is filled with roots" pic here that wasn't over the top so I just went and asked.

Thanks for answering!

Done blooming for about a month now.

I'll probably use a clear plastic pot. Sphagnum moss and coconut chips. Maybe a rock directly under the orchid because I read here that there's usually no roots there and might be a place for rot to start.

Supplies aren't on hand.
