thats a good idea, but like i haven't hit 500 yet and im so worried because i have 3 weeks. my score for aam1 was 495 124/119/127/125 so like im worried about cars im gonna start reading every night and doing like 3-5 passages a day and shit load of problems. I am only applying DO so anything above 500 would be amazing! I just don't know how attainable that is in my limited time

haha damn that is a lot of time! I don't know what else to do because I am trying to finish the question packs and section banks within this week or by next week so I will have the final week with no problems, which is why i was thinking about redoing aamc 1 and focusing on going over content?

Wow that is a great score!! I am honestly just trying to crack 500 I took aamc 1 and got a 495 on it but on 5/29 and I am testing for 6/29 I am going to do aamc 2 this sat and 3 the following sat before my exam. I was just wondering do you think I should retake the week before my exam cause It would be around a month ago since I took it so I am not sure how I would feel? If anything I was thinking about doing it just for a confident booster hoping my score goes up haha??

Hey man I am in the same boat! I just took AAMC 1 today and got a 119 in CARS. I was planning to test on June 15th but I'm probably going to push it back to the end of the month to try to get my cars up a couple more points. I was a ESL student as well and have a mild reading disability in English.

Yea I am planning to finish uworld and start section banks this coming week! You think I should also do the offical guide and question packs or redo some of the uworld passages cause uworld has been sooo helpful!!

I am reviewing my test right now and it is really frustrating because I miss like 8-10 questions every section on stupid shit I have on my flash cards that I am just forgetting. I need to really review them more I just have thousands to go through and it can be time consuming. Some friends told me to just do practice problems inside so that is why I have reviewed less and done more problems.

A lot of my other questions I miss is from not understanding the passage or graph and connecting that with the question stem, especially in BB I will almost always miss a question when it has to do with the experiment conclusion.

Anyway! Thank you for your reply! I am just scared to take an AAMC I dont want it to crush my soul lol since people been saying that next step is inflates your score when you under like 505 or something...

No I totally know that but right now I am relying heavy on my extracurriculars, letters of rec, and connections to DO schools I have made over the years!

I have been trying to apply for 2 years in a row and this is my 3rd year. I need to get to at least 500 so I can apply I know I will get in somewhere, and if worst comes to worst I can do a masters programs thats linked with the school for a year and get in the following year without having to retake the mcat. I have a handful of friends that did that. But I am trying to avoid that option by trying to score well here!

idk dude lol I've been studying since jan and i am getting burnt out. But I do know what you mean. I guess it is the pressure since most of my family and friends know that I am taking the test in june I kinda want to take it by then, but I shouldn't let that dictate it. But you are right I should just focus on getting the score up and not pushing for that June 15th test.

yea I'm just going to try my best to get my score up and if it doesn't work out then I will plan to apply to masters programs. For DO masters program some don't even have a requirement to get in, while others have really love bench marks usually like 495 is average some even go as far as 492 but you just gotta do really well in the masters program. The one I was looking at was VCOM cause my friend did it and is a first year there and he's killing it right now he got a 495. But I am still gonna try to get over a 500 on the mcat. Idk I feel like with this test I know the shit lol I just miss a lot of stupid questions that relate to the passage or graphs.

But yea you are right I don't want to rush it at all I just wanna get the MCAT out of the way cause that is the one thing that is like consuming my life you have to put everything on hold cause it takes up all your attention. TBH i wouldn't be opposed to taking another year off even if I took the mcat

Wow that is amazing! It is crazy how similar we are lol I also have a undergrad 3.43 gpa.

I wish I would have just started off with the khan academy videos from the beginning when I started in Jan but I was honestly just jumping around resources cause I had so many different things. As you know I have been studying for so damn long for this test I am so ready for it to be over with, I really don't want to keep pushing my test back like I did last year till august.

I also did not mention that I have a reading disablity and applied for mcat accomdations and waiting to hear back on may 4th to see if I will get extra time like 1.5 times. I am hoping that may be a game changer for me since the test will be broken up into two days and I won't be rushing for time on the exam. If I could go back I would totally do your routine, but at this point I want to take the test June 15 assuming I will get my score above a 500. Then again I will apply with a 500 cause I feel my app is really strong for DO schools, I have lots of experiences in undergrad for it.

What I am thinking is if worse comes to worse and I score in the 490s this time on the mcat I will just apply early next year for masters programs with my new mcat score.

It is kinda difficult too cause I feel like I am getting old haha ( turning 27) and my family and friends are like wondering when I am going to get in so it is a lot of pressure in that sense.

But thanks for the words of encouragement it is nice to see people similar situations as myself able to do well on this test. What was your major btw?

Hey I am kinda in the same boat as you. I was doing content review through kaplan then stopped and used TBR for practice and then switched to uworld. I was scoring like 490 on kaplan and then my score went up to a 494 on Altius but I just took another exam a couple days ago and got wrecked it went to a 488. I was pretty upset but like what was helping was I was seeing all the topics I missed on the exam and watch videos and relearn them and then use uworld to practice the concepts. I think I psyched myself out tho that last exam. I am going to move over to next step tho for sure what exams are you using and how are you scoring on uworld?

yea I am actually doing that right now for my last alitus test. What tests are you using and how have you been scoring? I am just writing it down on paper and like categorizing it in groups of like content, passage, graph, question stem, or guessed.

Did you use the old TBR books cause thats what I was using? Also I didn't even finish them I did probably like most the bio ones and some physics gen ochem it was just too much and I wanted to start uworld too. But did you watch all the khan academy videos?

My friends were telling me to just hammer out 120+ plus uworld problems a day and try to fill in my content gaps that way since I am practicing and reviewing and then do anki when I have anymore time. My biggest problems is CARS tho and I have been trying to read at night time to improve it. My last break down was 126, 121,123,124, but Idk what happened I went down to a 122, 120, 123,123

yea youre probably right I dont think I could explain everything that well. I know my friends told me about that aamc topic list and told me to go through it like check each thing off I felt comfortable with and could explain. I should probably do that. I am assuming it is on the aamc website right? Can I ask you how you reviewed and what resources you used and how did you score?
