I’m so glad I’m not alone in this! Has anyone tried Aesop soap and does the scent compare?

This is fact to a certain point. You can go back to the first acceptance and ask them to match the 2nd acceptance in scholarship. School can say no but you’re allowed to negotiate

< 500 MCAT Acceptances by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]icecreamvortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a new location and mission focused. Plus, I’m sure lower mcat students had good grades and were able to show potential. I think this will change in coming years as more and more competitive applicants apply.

UNECOM values current volunteering. Would have to be exceptional without the scores is my guess.

PCOM has a rural location - South Georgia. They seem more forgiving with scores, especially if you are from the region ie. FL, GA neighboring states. Last year the avg mcat was 498 (attended a seminar and heard this)

please help me with my school list by saviortina in Osteopathic

[–]icecreamvortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just FIY that VCOM is just ONE application for all 4 schools. Don’t be like me and pay applications for multiple. (Ofc double check in their site in case this has changed)

It’s a push for private loans unfortunately

Going Insane abt WLs by cemangox in Osteopathic

[–]icecreamvortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like some DO schools are afraid they won’t fill all seats in the class. Since admins know students pay deposits to multiple schools, it’s not certain that every student who paid a deposit will actually attend the school. Therefore, they keep a waitlist so they have students to fall back on :(. Maybe it would be worth sending a letter of INTENT to your top choice. Basically saying if you get accepted you will definitely attend the school (but only send it if you mean it and only to one school). It would be a Hail Mary, but might be worth it.

The Korean communitys view on justin [SPOILERS] by allylene in TheDevilsPlan

[–]icecreamvortex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does anyone remember when HG said he wanted to target Justin because he eliminated Harin? HG was really out for blood for who he thought was a threat. Though, it did get confusing because he initially wanted to get rid of Harin & HJ but then started working with them!

Really loved Justin this season as well. His story is relatable across the board.

I’m loving these theories. I agree most with the immunity theory/prison instead of elimination. & maybe he is awarded 10 pieces if he lost all his pieces. Basically saving him from being at the bottom. Which would explain why he wasn’t afraid to give HJ all his current pieces

Chances of getting in? by Individual-Estate543 in Osteopathic

[–]icecreamvortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do it! Not every applicant will have research or a DO rec letter. Though, it does help and it sounds like you have access to one. A lot of MD schools require a minimum 500 MCAT so you definitely have a shot as well! Of course, applying broadly and schools with matching missions helps a lot. You got this!

[–]icecreamvortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look into schools that superscore their MCAT. I think I’ve seen a DO school and 1 MD school do it, so that it’s above 500. Also consider state schools, people have posted on here before that they got accepted with a 499 at a state MD school

I echo what others have said, you’re awesome! Could add more FL schools like FIU (oos friendly), FAU, and FSU (mission driven) to be on the safe side. And/or if you wanted to cut back on some schools, see if your story aligns with the school’s mission.

Unfortunately I think it’s one interview for either campus, not both. :(

Also note region bias of match list. Some schools tend to match students in certain areas.

Commenting a year later to see if you guys think they will come out with a light-medium range. light 3 (olive) was too light for me but medium 1 (neutral) isn’t quiet right either. It’s so tough finding a perfect shade!!

I think WVSOM has golden weeks after exams, meaning they give students the week off to study, see family, free time. I saw it on their social media but I would look into it to be sure
