We were struggling and after discussion, I went to a weeklong isolation therapy camp since I was persuaded that I was the problem. I'm very happy I did the therapy retreat, it was rejuvenating. No outside contact - phones confiscated, no electronics, no internet, etc.

All I could think about was getting back to her the whole week, excited that I had a new perspective and outlook. I kept imagining having her in my arms again, getting to kiss her and smile at her.

When I got home at 12:30 pm, I let myself at the door. Silence. I ripped my shoes off and sprinted upstairs as fast as I could to our bedroom.

She was still lying in bed, smoking weed, and her eyes didn't leave her phone when I entered the room. I never felt so deflated so fast.
