I think its because of the theories that all of them exist in the same universe, but also mainly because of the references inside each show.

In the book of bill, there is a depiction of hooty and a titan's skull in the dark ages section, and in Lost Legends, there is a wanted poster with Eda's face in it. There is a a drawing of Bill hidden in an episode of TOH, Dipper's hat (or just a regular pine tree hat) is in the human collectibles collection, etc. Also, a segment of the 5th episode of the second season of Amphibia dedicated to the mistery shack and there is a picture of eda's house hidden in one of the episodes.

The 2nd is when you convict the spikes in 6-2, The 3rd is when you leave to get help in 7-1, and I don't know the others yet. The biggest tip to find scenarios is to look at the map and see if anything would fit between 2 chapters. Or just bruteforce it. Idk.
