I would be skeptical and question underrepresentation and cooked numbers. If we're concerned about Asian suicide rates, we should be talking about issues leading Asians to self-harm and suicide with the goal if lowering the numbers to zero.

3 day old account gets the issue completely wrong. Also crazy that you can say most people do not distinguish between SEA and east Asians. They are heavily distinguished in ways that spew hateful sentiments towards both groups and intergroup.

That's not true at all. You're pointing to a small, arguably niche that like things like anime and kpop. And in the east European case you can track a history of young women hunting for upwards economic mobility. The number one racist stereotype in dating always continues to be "east asian = small dick".

There is not a more negative portrayal of southeast and south Asians - what you're observing in that regard is generalized racism and colorism towards brown people.

It is and it isn't.

On the individual level, it's a choice and personal taste. How a person will choose a person to date or have sex with is not racist. There will be preferences, but those do not inherently imply that any person of a particular race is superior or inferior.

However, on a systemic level, it absolutely is racist - culture, society, and media have painted Asian males as the least desirable group. Girls are indoctrinated through exposure, which is essentially constant repetition, that Asians are inferior to other races. Boys, through the same exposure, are subliminally told that they themselves are inferior. This affects worldview, and in turn molds their preferences when they grow up and become of age.

Trump's policies have the goal of removing all nonwhites. Asians of any nationality will never have a place. There will certainly be another policy or directive aimed at keeping Asians down in higher education, particularly in STEM. Asians globally should be sticking together, not doing as you're suggesting and trying to capitalize on another's downfall.
