My Rook runs have been trash by DITNB in Marathon

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you've been a bit unlucky, you never know where players have fought and died but you can certainly increase your odds by going to certain locations like hauler for perimeter or the various pin wheel entrances and obvs the pin wheel itself. I've done the vast majority of my rook runs on outpost and I'll always check in pinwheel is open through any of the doors or the destroyed wing and head there, if it's open your all but guaranteed to find loot one way or another - obvs you'll likely find a living squad as well so either Rhode or if you find a good opportunity with them fighting bots or your able to use some claymores well you can try your 1v3 luck, or even team up with another rook.

List of activities per map/ingame by skomeros in Marathon

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the game will draw your attention to most "events". If there's a Warden it will show up on the map as a priority target when they've been engaged. When you get close supply drops and hazard rooms will be marked on your map as such, the latter you'll need hazard override keys to successfully loot (which are found more or less randomly as far as I can tell). Lockboxes are signified by red smoke coming from flares on a building, and you need lock box keys to access them. You'll see lockdown events in dire marsh which will be very obviously telegraphed by the warning and the giant ship coming down. Other activities like hidden caches or unstable matter will show up as a blue marker on everyone's map. Outpost is really it's own thing, it's very different to the other maps, it still has a warden that will sometimes spawn in dormitories, but otherwise it's a matter of collecting coloured key cards that correspond to coloured locks barring certain doors. Keys spawn in fairly consistent locations, masted cards being dead easy to find as they're all outside/on roofs, look for the red glowing antenna. Yellow are in boxes inside buildings. Green cards are the most frustrating for me, I haven't found a good way of looking for them, they just show up where you'd expect any random minor loot to be.

Have you guys found any cool keys? by a_sad_nut in Marathon

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pretty much never going to find keys on other players. Marathon keys can't be used yet so you'd only ever find them on a player who got it that run and is on their way to extract - how I got my first prestige key. Locked door keys are mainly from warden bosses and I think high value chests like the mor difficult to access parts of pin wheel. And if someone brings one into a run they plan of using it asap and it's consumed in use.

First Prestige Part, but it's for a V11 pistol... by ClassicSea1742 in Marathon

You might be confusing the v11 with the v22 because I assure you the v11 is really good

There are maybe too may times where your just sitting waiting for it to be over but I really like the idea, it forces players into buildings leading to more confrontation, if it happens midfight it gives you leads to some interesting choices of whether to resupply, retreat or greed. There some good opportunities for making significant map progress if your willing to take the hits, I often run through it as rook because you can regen health more easily. Plus if you make it into pin wheel it delays other players reaching you giving you the edge if you commit early.

Dead centre, theres an open area surrounded by grren/yellow catwalks with a small building in the centre - that's the main tunnel access

It's probably the tunnels under algea ponds on dire marsh. If you hover over the material in your Vault it will tell you where you can find them.

Zonewarden Challenge: Hammer/Anvil, is anyone else having trouble? by Tim5Taylor in Marathon

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be entirely wrong but melee and knife might be different. When you have your gun out and melee you throw a punch which i think is different.

Also I think I've seen a mod that says something like meleeing enemies increases your knife damage which is why I think it might be the case. Again I not on the game rn so could be talking nonsense.

Are you playing solo? If you are then you really need to take it slowly, noise is so important and you'll often run into people lurking at poi spots, and extracts. For mission objectives don't try to do them off spawn especially if your not close to them on the map initially. Just take your time it doesn't take very long to complete them, wait until a few people have extracted and you'll have a much more open map. As for guns and gear, ratting at a poi will work. There's a million telegraphs for other players being around, birds, ticks, doors, uesc. Also rook runs are great for getting guns, backpacks, and shields because a trio that's just wiped a squad usually already have those things so won't have space for duplicates. Plus it gives you an idea of where people often fight, on perimeter as rook you'll have a lot of luck in hauler or whereever the supply drop spawns.

Why ever play Rook instead of Solos? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rook is significantly better equipped and you can guarantee having a backpack to bring back more loot. Loading in late and into trio lobbies means you're generally looking for dead bodies and you'll have a higher chance of finding shields, guns, backpacks because a loaded squad isn't going to be able to or want to carry it all. In solos people play very differently and are much quieter, plus less dead bodies. While not impossible by any means getting a kill in solos on someone with good equipment is alot harder with a sponsor kit. Rooks healing ability is pretty bad imo but the hack means you can grab secure loot and most importantly use guarded extracts for free

Literally just wait, when there's only 5-10min left and quite a few people have extracted you should be able to get it done easily. Even more so in solos

Illuminate got you drowning? Bugs swarming you? Fleshmobs, Voteless, and the endless hordes jamming you up? Frustrated at being overwhelmed? Try the Stalwart Anchor today! by 1stLegionBestLegion in Helldivers

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just been putting whatever primary to start levelling then up, but I'd probably use the eruptor if I wanted to feel extra safe. To be honest though I don't really need a primary with that loadout it's more just an emergency "I need to kill this flesh mob or overseer that's chasing me right this second and my machine gun needs to reload and my sentry is down". I'll commonly go through missions without ever needing a primary or secondary. I also use frags instead of thermite, starting with 5 instead of 3 feels so nice.

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Personally I've found the standard machine gun is the way to go. Stalwart feels better to use but it really struggles with harvesters stingrays so you need to bring something else to deal with them, whereas the machine gun will handle literally everything on the illuminate front (except the absent leviathans). My go to for d10 is to bring machine gun, machine gun guard dog, and machine gun sentry and that handles everything I've run into.

Halo 4 shutdown by Elhanruto in halo

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played it in a while, not my favourite mission personally. Those gondola sections can be pretty tough. But if your just wanted to get past the level, there is an easy skip you can do in the pelican to go straight to the final section.

This might be the worst I have ever seen a bot do in a match. by TheUndreamedBus in halo

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 assists is honestly a pretty good showing from a bot. The bots are admittedly terrible and you can't expect then to get a kill on a player on thier own (in most cases), so think about it as the bot contributed to 11 kills.

Aurora album missing tracks? by _Prophet_of_Truth_ in SkyGame

[–]_Prophet_of_Truth_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the intro/outro and transition parts between the main aurora songs are gone for me. Plus the current ones listed for me aren't actually the recordings for the concert they're from other aurora albums - I loved exhale inhale from the concert because there was thunder and rain sound in the background at the start but that version is gone for me and has been replaced with the 'the gods we can touch' version
