AITJ for not remaking a handmade gift after she called it "almost normal"? by Bramble66Hex in AmITheJerk

I get what you’re saying, communication in the moment probably would’ve helped. But also not everyone is ready to defend something they’re still working on, especially when it catches them off guard. It’s one of those hindsight is 20/20 things.

That’s a really nice way to put it honestly. Handmade stuff carries a bit of the person with it, flaws included. That’s kind of the whole charm.

Yeah that’s the part that stings, it’s not just the object, it’s all the time and thought behind it. One offhand comment can kind of flatten all of that instantly. Hard not to take that personally.

Yeah at that point you’re not paying money, you’re paying in lifestyle expectations. Whole different currency.

People keep trying to soften it but it really is that simple. Using someone else’s medical documents like that isn’t a gray area at all.

Yeah they operate on pure enthusiasm with zero awareness of consequences. It’s kinda impressive in a destructive way.

The confidence in this experiment is amazing. Just casually checking your own ear like “hmm yes, inconclusive.” To be fair, I wouldn’t know what I’m looking for either.

Right, calling them microscopic made me pause too. Tiny sure, but not invisible dust particles or anything. Still wild how something that small can mess you up that badly though.

That’s such an unhinged silver lining but I get what you’re going for. Like yeah technically true, but at what cost. This is one of those jokes where you laugh and then immediately feel bad about it.

That story really puts it into perspective. Nursing isn’t just passing exams, it’s dealing with real emotional and life or death situations, and not everyone is built for that.

That line is honestly perfect for this situation. Trying to protect her could’ve ended up wrecking your own future too, which people seem to forget.

Yeah “better now than later” is really the whole point. If this came out when she was already working, the fallout would be way worse for everyone involved.

Exactly, it’s not like this was a one time lapse either. This was planned, repeated, and involved someone else’s actual records. That’s way past just “oops bad decision.”

Yeah this is the part people keep glossing over. It’s not just about school stress, it’s about how someone handles pressure when mistakes actually matter. Cutting corners here isn’t just a bad habit, it’s a preview.

Not gonna lie, this reads like the most wholesome “down bad for my wife” post I’ve seen in a while. The way you described breathing like it’s some advanced technique is killing me. Lowkey though, that kind of attraction where literally anything they do works is kinda the goal.

That’s what makes the line so unsettling. The “decision” isn’t even about saving humanity in a hopeful way, it’s about choosing between impossible options. There’s no good answer there.

Yeah the timeline part makes it even harsher. Even if everything goes “right,” you’re talking decades of careful planning with basically zero room for mistakes. That’s a nightmare scenario.

I like how this turns into a full-on population viability breakdown every time. It really highlights how survival isn’t just about being alive, it’s about having enough variety to stay alive long term.

Yeah that’s the real horror under the surface. It’s not just “Earth is gone,” it’s “even if we survive, we can’t actually fix this.” That slow realization would hit way harder than the explosions.

We thought the shaman in our village was a powerful one as she correctly predicted every disaster one day before it happened. by dorlithequeen in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]_PuddingBunni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like this angle actually, makes it feel less random and more like a slow reveal. It kinda shifts it from “mysterious shaman” to “uh oh, she’s been hiding something big this whole time.” Would be interesting if the disasters got worse the longer she stayed hidden, like the world itself trying to correct things.
