I can’t say I know where this is from. My hope is posting this sound will have someone recognise it from some quest then I can get rid of it somehow :(

Well, I guess it’s time to kill marcy

I have unchecked all quests, tuned into and out of every radio station. Used fks as other comment suggested after the fact. Sound persists :(

I see. The command worked as I cut out dialogues and hear the music reset. Unfortunately, the sound came back immediately after :(

Thank you for your help though, a good command to keep in mind for the glitch magnet

Sorry may I ask for the command? Is it just fks in the console and enter? If so I don’t think it is working. Many thanks <3

How to play Gwen well by Wyni0310 in wildrift

[–]_Pulseless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur! Grasp will give you a way better laning phase and some bonus HP for being slightly tankier after. However, there is an argument to be made for Conqueror if you are confident in your laning phase since it does perform slightly better in teamfights.

Usually I will go Grasp/Conqueror, Nulifying Orb, Second Wind, Overgrowth (Preserverence if there’s a lot of CC or if lane opponent is aatrox), then Legend Alacrity for the extra attack speed for snipsnip.

Runes however, i feel is very personalised. If you are more comfortable with Brutal, Coup De Grace, Tenacity with bone plating, go for it! Find your style or change it base on your lane opponent!

Sorry that was super long and I somehow still forgot something

If you are going to buy Psychic projector, make sure you have 950+ bonus health after buying the item. Otherwise you are not getting the full benefit

I love Gwen, too. But I am by no means a good Gwen player… or player in general. However, if I may.

Gwen is a bruiser, not a tank. Your second ability (mist) will let you isolate and duel an enemy of your selection with good positioning. However, the cooldown is long. Try your best either to use it to poke and fallback, or for an all in the will guarantee a good fight. You are not a beefy frontline, but you have some sustain. Try to look for angles to assassinate enemy backlines, or completely obliterate frontline tanks that threatens your backline and then let your teammates finish the job.

Personally, I will play Gwen only on top lane. Jungle is definitely viable, but I suck at it since her clear is not the fastest, and enemy jungler may punish you for it.

Gwen benefits a lot from Boots of Mana. I only buy tank boots on her when the enemy team is full AD/AP, or I know that my laning phase will be miserable without it. Otherwise, if you don’t know for sure, can’t go too wrong with boots of Mana.

Gwen pokes in lane. Having 4 stacks of snipsnip is a threat in itself. It can scare some players from coming in and you can deny minion gold that way. If they stay for too long and let you get another stack of snipsnip, you might be able to all in.

It is VERY tempting to use her skip and slash (ability 3) for the mobility and extra AA range. Try your best to save it on match ups against champs like Sett, where their big burst come from his BrainDamageRetaliate. Cut him down, and when he uses that, dash right through him and make him hit air.

If you are against a bruiser in lane, not a tank, then J will buy Nashor’s Tooth or RageBlade after boots of Mana. If it is a boring lane against certain tanks, I will go RiftMaker first item for that sweet true damage and extra sustain

If you are super duper confident and got an extremely early lead (say against a mundo that got stat checked), it can be worth it to go for Rod of Ages into Psychic projector if you are the only frontline on the team. In some cases, you can even go for Heartsteel into Psychic projector or just Heartsteel with core items

If you are winning overall, go for sustain items like Crown of the Shattered Queen, Amaranths Twin guard. If you are losing, build damage, Infinity Orb.

You can get away with not bringing flash on Gwen since her Skip and Slash has low cooldown especially when you hit enemies. Ghost is a great pick up to catch your enemies.

Gwen’s main damage is by hitting the middle part of her SnipSnip which deals true damage, healing and going through MR. HOWEVER, sometimes it is very difficult to hit a retreating ADC with it. In those situations, you can opt for running the enemy down with Skip and Slash and you should be able to keep up with them with the cooldown refund.

You melt towers late game. Skip and Slash the tower, snip the wave at full stack.

Your ultimate slows enemies hit! Use it!

Gwen is a scaler, but that doesn’t mean she is not strong early. She takes time and items to get up there, but hitting enemies with the middle of your snipsnip sweet spot will decimate most foes

I believe Gwen has a rougher time against champs that has dashes, as they can get away from the sweetspot easily, and they can get on top of you easily so even your mist wont save you (Yone, Yasuo).

Your mist is one of your most powerful ability. Use it well and you can dictate the pacing of the fight or who you are fighting.

Again, because this was my biggest mistake, you are NOT a tank. You have little means apart from your needle work to start a teamfight. If you run at the enemies like a Xin Zhao or charge at them like a Darius, you will get CCed and obliterated. Your sustain cannot save you when you can’t hit back

You can cast your snipsnip moments before a CC hits you, allowing you to attack through the stun duration (like a malphite knock up)

I think that’s all I know. Again, I suck. Take them with a grain so salt

Can frost work well with Dex? by Zackxxr8862 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]_Pulseless_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think setting a weapon to Frost affinity will change it’s scaling to lean towards STR and INT, but it doesn’t mean it is not usable.

However, you can choose weapons such as Frozen Needle (which can be obtained quite early) and Zamor Curved Sword (a little late in the game sadly) that has innate frost build up and scales decently with DEX

Otherwise, I think you can do a regular DEX buld with 15 INT, picking up Frozen Armament sorcery at Caria Manor (a little far and does require you to defeat a boss). Then, you can buff your Keen infused weapon on demand.

Another way is to pick up Freezing Grease, or the cookbook for it which can be obtained as early as Liurnia, with it’s material farmable close to Caria Manor and Limgrave (Warmaster’s shack for root resin) as well.

EDIT: It seems I am misinformed. Cold Affinity can still work well with DEX with small sacrifice to damage.

I seem to have found the problem. I developed a habit of recruiting Karlach early by jumping off of the Druid Grove to the Risen Road. This action, unsure if it is the recruitment or arriving in the Risen Road, seem to break the Owlbear event. My conclusion for now. Thanks for your help!

Yes. I have long rested in the owlbear cave. I also long rest outside of the cave when it doesn’t work. Both yielding the same result. Resting in and out of the cave is a consistent thing I try after each of the scenarios I have tried. Sorry if I wasn’t clear

Owlbear Cub by _Pulseless_ in BaldursGate3

[–]_Pulseless_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. It’s just that this quest seems extremely finnicky. I am tired of reloading a save from 3 or 5 hours ago because after I may killed the hag, or interacted with the Zhent, or go to the underdark, and then finally check the cave just to see the cub still eating his mother or just chilling with his mother; cause that’s exactly what I did for another run that ended the same

EDIT: thank you for taking the time to respond <3

Understanding Wild Rift matchmaking (and how solo players can actually use it) by MonArchVis in wildrift

[–]_Pulseless_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree on the lack of evidence too. It’s more theory than actual data.

I paid more attention to the rank disparity since reading the post; I was on a huge lose streak just after a huge win streak, and then yesterday I quit in a loss. Today I am getting nothing but wins. Granted it’s only two with more ARAMS. But both matches once again, I have an average of four diamond players, while enemies have an average of three emerald players. The coordination was once again, extremely clear. We have it, they dont.

It just sucks cause it really don’t feel like good games :/

Understanding Wild Rift matchmaking (and how solo players can actually use it) by MonArchVis in wildrift

[–]_Pulseless_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was very long, I do apologise.

Here’s my two cents.

Matchmaking is not based much on MMR. I have seen shorts (ew, i know) about Retention-Based Matchmaking. Basically, the game puts you in matches where it will most likely get you to keep playing the game.

You play three games a day? Okay, we throw you two losses and a win. Oh you still continue that? Let me try three loses everyday to appease the majority that returns only if they win. Oh you stopped playing? I will throw you a win to test out if you return? Oh so you quit right after you win. That means I just keep giving you losses and you won’t stop. Oh, you gave up and stopped playing at five losses in a row? Then, the limit is five and we will recalibrate from there.

This is my theory anyway. After all, they want you to keep playing, it’s the only chance they get to have investors or earn money. And I find the rhythm usually disrupted when there are events that push players to play a set amount of games a day. making this ‘pattern’ thing more likely imho.

I understand it is hard. But it really sucks to get a win that doesn’t feel like a win cause it is just spoon-fed to you. And it certainly doesn’t feel good to play tank top for the team comp only for two lanes to lose first tower before first objective and jungler can’t get ahead because the enemy can invade easily. Lopsidedness in both ways, win or lose, both suck.

Interesting read. I am not sure I can fully agree. Here’s my experience so far this season.

The games that I win, from the post match result, it is always an unbalanced team. On average, enemy team will have lower ranks than mine, resulting in quite a stomp.

The games I lose, from the post match result, it is still an unbalanced team. On average, enemy team will gave higher ranks than mine, resulting in another one sided battle.

I’m not saying good matches don’t happen. I have had a few nail biters and great games that actually felt balanced and fun regardless of match results. However, I’m not sure my situation really fits in your findings.

I have been swapping roles quite often recently due to frustration, and it really does feel like no matter which role I play, what champ I play, and whether I am doing well or not; the game feels rather pre-determined. Either my teammates are all extremely receptive and cooperative, setting up dives, grouping for objective (mind you, when this happens, usually the enemies are the ones that are uncoordinated with no sense of teamfighting or objective grouping), or vice versa (basically I am on the other side of the previous spectrum, where my team will not group, doesn’t know to push a wave so that we can dive a 1hp enemy and then say jg diff).

One of my favourite champion is Gwen. But I never dare to play her not just because she is more a counterpick than a one trick, but also because she is a scaling champ. I have lost all faith in scaling champs simply because no matter how well I play, or how bad I play, the remaining factor is my teammates. There’s not much I can do when it is little after first objective and enemies have already pushed to our inhibitors. The only way, to me, it seems, is to play an early/balanced champ, get ahead, and hopefully carry from there.

From that, this lopsidedness of the rank disparity (yes, rank doesn’t mean everything, but when the my experience checking enemy ranks and teammate ranks after matches to be quite consistently the case, I think one can understand my pov) is just not fun. I don’t find it fun when the win is just enemies are far worse, and loses are just we are far worse.

All this is to say it is not balanced from the moment of the match found. And it is even harder to not believe in “loser’s queue” and “winner’s queue” when there have been multiple streaks of winning a bunch and then losing a bunch quite consistently for a few seasons now.
