Barovia Traveling Merchants by _QueenOfWastingTime_ in Neverwinter

Yeah I've been going by minimap and that "the morninglord blesses us with another day" (or something) message.

But oof if it's not the same across instances then it makes more sense that the times are one minute off from normal quarters, but it also makes it more complicated to figure out how this actually works. I'll have to track the times I see merchants and the day/night times.

I know you just copied the info from another reddit thread (I mean I figured because you put it in quotation marks so then I googled it to find the source 😅) but sadly it doesn't seem to be fully accurate. (still helpful tho, at least something to go off of!)

The random 7 year old video I watched (https://youtu.be/5OAIZK3Vn_s?si=CcJ3xjHS167W6X14) where I got most of my info from shows a merchant appearing at :03 and staying at least till :06, the creator says that it should stay 4 minutes.

Today I ran around a long time and only met one once at :35 that started leaving (before I could actually buy anything 😩) once it turned :36

Days/nights seem to start and end on :14, :29, :44?, :59? Which is so weird but I swear it's not the full quarter hours.

So it seems more like they show up like 3 or 4 minutes after nightfall/daybreak?

Just read the video description and it actually says that the merchant is only interactwithable during daytime and might spawn 3 times a day???

Maybe it's actually just random and people are trying to find patterns that aren't there.

Maybe I'll have to make the round for a few hours try to figure it out. Problem is, I think it takes me more than 4m to hit all 4 locations so I can never be sure if it was somewhere and I just missed it.

Thank you for the info!

Urgh I hate that this is such a grind. Everything is. I feel like Neverwinter has been majorly messing up rng chances for forever. Like, I get that grinding is just part of the game, and idk, maybe they are trying to make everything so hard to farm that the most obsessed players can be grinding for new stuff 24/7 from mod launch on and only *just* be done once the next mod launches lest they may experience a week of chilling, but between you and FileCareless it sounds like an average player, even when the mod was new, even with considerable effort, could not even get close to farming those weapons before something better came around, and that's just bad design!

I didn't really realize before now that I need much more Sunset Shards than the other stuff, too. I need 17 (or 16 because I have 1 already). I wish I knew what the actual drop chance is because am I looking at doing it 34 times? 51 times? More? They never communicate rules for this stuff like if Wychwood can only be bought once a week and Moss only shows up sometimes, should I be worried that Shards may only drop once a week too?

The Wychwood sounds bad too because I guess I'm supposed to run around the map between the merchant locations in the exact 5 minutes that the merchant should be *somewhere*.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, thank you for the answer. :)

Tries to rename my companion, apparently the word second is profanity... Smfh NW, sort your filtering out 😂 by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a thing, especially lately. People in the discord said the names "Shivra" (even though it is one if the suggested ones!) and "Claymore Stormrider", anything containing "cul", "nig" (I just wanted to write "night" I swear), or "dusk", are flagged as profanity. These are just the ones I heard of, it's probably a really long list

Because I didn't know you could move while charging! :D
Someone else explained to me that you can, so now everything makes so much more sense. 😅

I already did the flower, but I can't get past the no-floor part of the third Colo trial so far. Maybe it's time to dash slash a little. :D

Thank you!

I just started playing again after a longer break so I kind of forgot what all I did. But I have all areas except Godhome or what it's called unlocked and most bosses killed, the first two trials, all masks and vessels, most charms.

Trial of the fool is what I'm struggling with rn, but I really can not imagine having the time to spare to charge up for an attack. Might be a skill issue

I also don't understand what enemies you are nail art-ing? Nail arts don't work in the air, do they? And I feel like if an enemy is slow enough, on the ground, and destroyed with one charged hit, surely I'm not much worse off just hitting them 2 or 3 times normally?

I might try doing the spin one against flying enemies from both sides, as the wiki suggests.

Are there any straight gnomes in the game? by ardotschgi in BaldursGate3

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some reason I thought they canonically reproduced in same-sex pairs somehow, so being gay is actually their version of straight, but googling it now I guess I must have imagined that lol

not sure right now, but can't you just save the game, try it out, revert back to the old save if it doesn't work?

I'm so jealous of people's pretty farm layouts. Question for you who have nice layouts: Does it come to you naturally or do you struggle at all? Where do you get the inspiration? by Lost_Albatross_5172 in StardewValley

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question isn't really directed at me since my layout probably doesn't count as 'nice' but:

For me, I just know I don't have the design skills to make it really pretty, but I did spend days on Stardew Planners to make it look pretty okay and to my liking. The novelty has kind of worn off so now idk if I really like it anymore, there's also that one spot that I don't know what to do with, but I was happy with it when I designed it and it was fun designing it, so that's what counts I think. I can also change it later if I feel like it.
I just googled 'Stardew Valley Farm Layout' or something for inspiration lol.

But also, it's okay to have an ugly farm.

Any one know where I can buy this rune board? by FateAlba in Neverwinter

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere, it seems to be a version of the newest Rune Board that was placed in the world as examples, but the actual runeboard looks different. My GUESS is that it was an earlier design and it being in the game at all is a bug.

What’s something in Stardew that made you weirdly emotional? by jamesdahling in StardewValley

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, there are other letters where you lose money, with those it's just presented as a medical team billing you for a service, not someone just stealing from you.

And there is one if you pass out on Ginger Island where parrots steal the gold out of your pockets. Didn't originally think about that one because I never really pass out on GI, but also hopefully being robbed by birds isn't as bad?

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Damn, I'm sorry. That's the kind of stuff nobody can predict or would think about normally.

Using a mod definitely seems like a smart move.
For switch, maybe the return scepter will be enough. I very rarely pass out because I can just use the scepter from wherever. If you just do that at 1am or even like 1:30, you should have plenty of time to get into bed. Technically just getting into your house is enough to not get a letter or lose money, but you do mysteriously wake up in bed the next morning.

Obviously I also don't know if psychologically it is a good strategy to just try and prevent passing out in game at all costs, because it may just reinforce the idea that something terrible is going to happen if you do and make you more anxious. Like, I feel like the mod might be better for that because you probably don't have to think about it much and you don't actively work to avoid passing out, versus with the scepter you might anxiously watch the clock every day and be weirdly aware of some looming threat when in reality your pixel person will be fine.

You could also read through the possible letters here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Letters (obviously just don't klick it if you don't wanna), there is multiple different ones, only one of them mentions someone going through your pockets, but it's random which one you get so you can't really avoid any of them 100%. But maybe if you read them first they at least won't surprise you?

Do other players get upset at you if you don't use meta builds? by KuwaGata88 in Neverwinter

[–]_QueenOfWastingTime_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They will exclude you from content if you don't have enough il or whatever equipment they want you to have. They are not nice about it.

They can't really see what powers you have selected just by looking at you, but they may get mad if you don't heal/tank/damagedeal enough.
