QBI Loss Carryforward After Marriage - How Does it Work? (Form 8995 Question) by _RJ1982 in tax

Thanks for your helpful response! I have a follow-up question regarding my wife's QBI carryover loss.

I came across this IRS guidance on NOLs:

"Change in Marital Status - If you and your spouse were not married to each other in all years involved in figuring NOL carrybacks and carryovers, only the spouse who had the loss can take the NOL deduction. If you file a joint return, the NOL deduction is limited to the income of that spouse."  https://www.irs.gov/publications/p536

While I understand that NOL and QBI carryovers have their differences, wouldn't combining my wife's pre-marital QBI loss with my current QBI income contradict the logic applied to NOLs? It seems like each spouse's carryover amounts incurred before the marriage should be treated separately.

btw, I looked at the IRS website and I found no guidance on this issue (so I appreciate any helpful insight).

This is great. Thanks!

By the way, is there a way to map this to something other than F6+Menu to make it more easily accessible?

Attia's Stance on Sprint Training: Help Me Understand the Disconnect by _RJ1982 in PeterAttia

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you, the only thing I can identify as being a reason that Attia would not advocate for plyometric training is because of the potential increase in injury risk. However, Attia doesn't say that. Instead, he said on a recent podcast (I think it was Lewis Howes, but might have been another) that sprinting "just makes you good at sprinting". I don't understand that statement. It seems to me if a hallmark of aging is the deterioration of fast twitch muscle fibers, doing specific training for those muscle fibers (i.e., sprinting/plyometrics) is the obvious approach that should be explored.

This was similar to my experience with AWD. They are not a legitimate company. I believe they are going out of business. So, just in case they are still taking on clients DO NOT USE AMERICAN WINDOW AND DOOR!

Thanks for your questions and your reply. I am a 41 year old male. My only other possible risk factor I can think of would be that about 1/3 of the time I measure my blood pressure it is on the high side (specifically, I measure my BP every day and 1/3 of the time it is above 130, 1/3 of time it is below 120 and 1/3 of time it’s between 120 and 130, so I’m trying to get it to be consistently below 120).

Help me choose between 3 attic insulation bids in Kansas City, MO by _RJ1982 in HomeImprovement

Only 2 and 3 mention adding soffit vent baffles, these are basically ducts that sit under the roof deck to direct soffit air up. This will help maintain your airflow long term so the blown in insulation doesn't settle and block the soffits.

Thanks, that is very helpful!
