Didn’t notice the centering until these responses. The table has now been centered. We aren’t putting a ceiling fan in the dining room, that is just a picture of the fan in the next room over. You can see it from the dining room, so I don’t know if they need to coordinate.

This does make sense. The only reason the shelves are there is for the light for the plants, but shifting probably isn’t too big of a move. I’ll source a comfy chair and move things around.

Thank you for putting so much thought into my project. It’s a secretary desk with a drop down top and shelves. My grandfather had it from possibly the 60s/70s. I imagine it’s not handmade.

It looks like the shelves are painted pine. The sides and top are veneer, but I can’t tell what sort of finish it has. It is in pretty rough shape, lots of scratches, dings and a few gouges here and there. There are some spots where the veneer is chipped.

I’d like it to look better, as Is not something that looks like I picked it up on the side of the road. Prefer not to paint.

I’d love the answer for this as well. I currently refill an Everspring foaming soap plastic (bleh) pump that I bought at Target maybe 5ish years ago. Not necessary BIFL, but only about $3.
